About Y's Kids Care (YMCA Taranaki)

Y’s Kids Care is Oranga Tamariki approved and supported by the Ministry of Social Development. It is held on the school premises or at the YMCA, in an environment that is a safe and familiar for the children.


This service is designed to provide safe, responsible, fun and reliable care and activities such as arts & crafts, sports, games, story time, board games, homework support, cooking, show and tell and much more. All this with fully trained fantastic staff!

Before School Care is offered (on each normal school day) at the YMCA 7:30-8:30am. Children are dropped to school in YMCA vehicles by 8:55am.

After School Care is offered on school grounds (on each normal school day) at:

Welbourn, Woodleigh,Vogeltown and Mangorei Schools
3.00pm to 5.30pm

Central/Intermediate After School care is offered (on each normal school day) at:

The YMCA (83 Liardet St) and includes pick up from school. Pickup available from Highlands and Devon Intermediate, Central, Merrilands, Westown, West End, Frankley, Spotswood, St Pius X, and Omata.
3:00- 5:30pm

Holiday programmes care is offered during the school holidays at the YMCA (83 Liardet St) 7:30-5:30.
