About Waikato Diocesan School for Girls
Mission
Preparing confident, resourceful and resilient young women to lead healthy and active lifestyles
Vision
Dio to be the School of choice for sport at all levels
Our sport programme demonstrates the 'Dio Difference' and develops mana in our students. We operate under our six strategic pillars of
1. Demonstrate our School CREDIT values
2. Provide opportunities for all to be involved
3. Develop the individual sportswoman
4. Support high performing students in sport
5. Involve our staff and the community
6. Uplift sport within the wider context of the School
Waikato Diocesan has a fine reputation for excellence in sport. A wide range of individual and team opportunities both competitive and social allows every student to find an activity she enjoys and to be physically fit. We strive to cater for all students, and consistently achieve participation levels well above national averages (78% in 2023).
With over 20 sporting codes managed by our Sports Department, our four flagship codes include rowing, netball, football and hockey. Our programmes run year round and include training using both onsite and external facilities and providers. We also boast our DioFit programme providing students with weekly term-time use of the School Fitness Centre.
Specific code information is distributed to students and parents via our co-curricular guide and information as required via School channels (email, assembley and newsletters). Enrolmy provides payment and where relevant registration opportunities to support code and activity participation.
No Pay / No Play Policy
Please note where applicable payment is required BEFORE activities commence. Your child may not be permitted to participate in the event of non-payment.
Health and Safety
Enrolmy registration and payment does not replace any School EOTC requirements. Parental permission where required will be requested separately.
