Dancing Stars Toowoomba is all about sharing the LOVE and FUN of DANCE! Dancing Stars offer exciting, fun, holistic, and creative dance classes for students aged 3 & up.
Class Styles on offer:
JAZZ – Involves a range of lively, upbeat & sassy movements. A few key features include kicks, jumps, isolations & body rolls.
HIP HOP – A less structured and improvisational style. Movements are strong, grounded, connective and coordinated closely with the beats of the music.
ACRODANCE – A creative blend of dance, gymnastics & acrobatics that includes - Flexibility, Strength, Balancing, Limbering and Tumbling.
CHEERSPORT - An introduction to the super fun & glam world of cheerleading. Fusing acrobatics, gymnastics, dance and stunting. This program is fused into our AcroDance classes, allowing students to learn the safe and effective progressions to stunting, rolling, tumbling and more!
COMPETITION TEAMS - For dancers who are ready to be challenged, show a higher level of commitment, excel their knowledge, and become exposed to the competitive side of the dance world. These classes are by selection and audition only.
Dancing Stars Toowoomba is well known in the community for offering students the opportunity to perform at various community events. Our students have had the opportunity to perform and display their talent at School Fetes, Shopping Centres, Football Games, Nursing Homes, Retirement Villages, Local Business Launch Events, Fashion Shows, Toowoomba Show, Carnival of Flowers, Christmas Wonderland, Local Markets, Colour Runs, Bites n Beats and various other events - just to name a few!
Not only do we offer local performance opportunities for our dancers and their families, but we also offer national and international opportunities. Our students have had the opportunity to dance at Dreamworld Gold Coast, The Brisbane EKKA, and Cavil Avenue Gold Coast. International performance opportunities include Disneyland Los Angeles, Universal Studios Hollywood, SeaWorld San Diego, Carnival Imagination Mexican Cruise Ship, and international outlets.

DANCING STARS TOOWOOMBA TERMS & CONDITIONS - Version 1 (2024)
Enrolment
Dancing Stars Toowoomba uses the Enrolmy Platform. Parents are responsible for providing the correct information upon creating their parental & student accounts.
Parents/students over 18 years, are responsible for advising Dancing Stars Toowoomba of any changes to enrolment and contact details throughout the year. These changes are to be made via the Enrolmy Platform.
Enrolment is valid for the current calendar year (1st Jan 31st December)
The Enrolment, Insurance & Admin Fee is due when the dancer attends their first paid lesson. Parents are not required to pay this fee if the dancer only attends a Free Trial Lesson & does not continue with the booking.
Behaviour
It is an expectation that Dancing Stars Students maintain appropriate behaviour. This includes respecting their instructors & classmates. This is applicable at any Dancing Stars Toowoomba event, not only in lessons & is also applicable to any Dancing Stars Toowoomba Student; including Social Media, School, Other Locations etc.
Dancing Stars Toowoomba reserves the right to discontinue a student/s enrolment/s due to misconduct and misadventure of the behaviour policy. This includes use of offensive language, rude or aggressive behaviours towards any studio persons by either parent or student.
Dancing Stars Students are required to act responsibly in their uniform in social settings. Failure to do so, will cause exclusion from the studio.
There are no refunds available for excluded students.
Uniform & Merchandise
Dancers attending Dancing Stars Toowoomba DANCE classes are required to wear the studio uniform.
Dancers attending Dancing Stars Toowoomba ACRODANCE/CHEERSPORT classes are required to wear the correct Acrodance Uniform. They must also follow safety precautions & wear their hair in a bun for all lessons.
Appropriate footwear must be worn during the Dance & Acrodance Lessons. If you are unsure, please contact the studio director for more information.
All uniform & merchandise items can be purchased from reception.
Performance Costumes
The most exciting part of a young dancers experience is to dress up in costume and perform on stage for their family and friends.
Dancing Stars Toowoomba have 2 costumes per year, per recreational class.
We strive to keep the prices of these costumes very reasonable.
It is not mandatory for parents to purchase costumes; however, costumes are required for recreational performances.
We do encourage you to purchase the costumes to give your students the full experience of being a dancer in a professional studio If you do not wish to purchase a costume, please tell the Dancing Stars Staff, as soon as possible.
All costume information will be communicated to parents & dancers via the following: Emails, Facebook Group & Newsletter. (Please note: Newsletters are no longer printed & given to students; these will only be delivered virtually).
There is NO REFUND for costumes ordered by Dancing Stars Toowoomba due to change of mind.
Individual orders of costumes after the initial order has been placed by Dancing Stars Toowoomba will incur an additional freight charge (depending on the charge by the supplier) to the parent.
All due care and attention must be applied to the laundering of costumes. Generally, costumes should not be washed.
Dancing Stars Toowoomba accepts no liability for costumes that have been laundered incorrectly and subsequently damaged in anyway.
Disclaimer: Parents are responsible for the fitting of sample factory made costumes and the subsequent advice to reception regarding the selected size. Parents are responsible for any adjustments that need to be made given factory-made costumes have set sizing and the studio offers these costumes at very reasonable costs. Where the costume is tailor made, the studios commitment is to make the necessary adjustments to ensure a good fit is appropriate to the style of the garment.
If costume payment has not been made by the due date, the Director has the right to not order the costume, which may result in the dancer being unable to perform at upcoming events & concerts.
Class Venues
Recreational Dance Classes are run at Glenvale Baptist Church (100 Glenvale Road, Harristown).

End of Year Concert
At the end of each year, Dancing Stars Toowoomba organises their annual Concert Spectacular where students perform the routines they have learned throughout the year. The end of year concert is the highlight of the year. Its very exciting for dance & ACRODance students to show case their dance routines to their family and friends as well as having the opportunity of participating in an amazing theme show under the direction of professional Instructors supported by qualified lighting and sound technicians to bring to the audience an outstanding concert.

Each dancer is required to pay an Annual Studio Enrolment, Admin & Insurance Fee. For more information, please view the Enrolment section of this document.
Dancing Stars Toowoomba offers 2 payment plans for class fees.
1.Pay Upfront Discounted Rate
The parent pays for the entire term upfront to gain a discount on lesson fees. Upfront payments are due at the conclusion of Week 1. Classes cannot be refunded if the dancer does not attend a lesson or lessons for the term.
2.Pay As You Go (PAYG)
Parents pay lessons weekly at reception when the dancer attends. No dancer attendance = No lesson payment.

Please Note: Every understanding is given to support families as much as we possibly can. If you wish to arrange a payment plan, please speak to the Studio Director. We understand there may be difficult times, however parents/carers/students need to keep Dancing Stars informed.

Refund Policy
Lesson fees are non-refundable.
In the case where the instructor/s are unwell & cannot hold classes, the missed lesson will be provided as a credit to all prepaid lesson dancers. This credit can be used on future invoices/payments.
There is no refunds available on Enrolment, Insurance & Admin Fees.
There is NO REFUND for costumes ordered by Dancing Stars Toowoomba due to change of mind.
Personal Property
All personal property should be kept in a bag and left in the hall where Dance Students and Instructors will have full view of the items throughout the duration of the lesson.
Whilst Dancing Stars Instructors will be as vigilant as they possibly can to ensure the safety of Dance Students personal belongings, Dancing Stars Toowoomba and their staff take no responsibility for any personal items lost or left on the premises.
Parental Viewing of Classes
To ensure optimum concentration and focus by the Dance & Acrodance Students, we encourage parents to remain quietly in the designated waiting area whilst lessons are occurring.
It is mandatory for all students to register attendance at reception each week. Parents/Carers of students under the age of 12 years must ensure their student has registered attendance at reception each week.
It is expected that Dance Students, under the age of 12 years, are collected on time, inside the hall, at the end of their class by a Parents/Carers. If your dancer is NOT allowed to be collected by an individual, please ensure this is updated in Enrolmy & the Studio Director is aware.
No Dance Student should wait or be asked to wait outside the hall to be collected. If parents are running late, parents should ring the studio director and advise. Call 0419 840 005.
When Dance Students leave the building, they are out of the care of Dancing Stars Toowoomba staff.
Dance Students under the age of 5 years must have at least one Parents/Carers on site during class time/s to assist should the student become distressed.
Custody arrangements and or changes relating to the students drop off or pick up must be communicated in writing to the studio & updated via Enrolmy.
Parents/Carers are responsible for maintaining up to date contact details in the Enrolmy Platform.
Dancing Stars Toowoomba is not a licensed child-minding facility and therefore unable to supervise other children not attending or trialling dance classes.
Parents/Carers must not allow other children other than fee paying dancers to play or dance on the dance floor whist classes are in progress. Parents/Carers are responsible for ensuring their children sit quietly in or outside the hall under their care.
Competition Teams
Dancing Stars Toowoomba Competition Teams Placements are via successful audition ONLY.

Dancing Stars Intellectual Property
All products of Dancing Stars Toowoomba including, uniforms, merchandise, music, routines, and costumes remains the property of Dancing Stars Toowoomba and cannot be replicated.
To preserve the intellectual property of Dancing Stars Toowoomba, all choreography for group dances, concerts etc taught by the Dancing Stars Instructors remains the property of Dancing Stars Toowoomba and may not be used without permission.
Dancing Stars Toowoomba logo & the slogan for the love and fun of dance has been Trade Marked and cannot be replicated.
Health and Safety
A safe and healthy workplace for volunteers/employees, dancers and visitors is a high priority of Dancing Stars Toowoomba.
The transition of the supervision of dancers from Parents/Carers to Dancing Stars staff requires the utmost care by all parties.
No child should be left without the parent being satisfied that their child is in class and under the care of Dancing Stars staff.
No child should be encouraged to leave the hall without supervision of a Parents/Carers or Dancing Stars staff.
Dancing Stars Toowoomba will not be held responsible for any injuries which may occur whilst in class or on the premises but will seek medical attention for your child immediately if needed.
First Aid Kit and Ambulance
Dancing Stars has multiple first aid kits on site for the application of absolute minor first aid.
In the event of a medical emergency, a Dance Students Parents/Carers will be contacted for the child to be collected.
In the event of a serious emergency an ambulance will be called. The Parents/Carers will be advised immediately.
Dancing Stars Instructors are first aid trained.
Parent/Student Responsibilities
Dance Students are on time for class and brought into the hall by a Parents/Carers if under the age of 12 years. Ideally students should arrive at least 5 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
Please advise Dancing Stars prior to the lesson should your Dance Student not be attending.
Dancers are required to wear appropriate clothing & footwear for their class.
Dancers are required to bring a water bottle to lessons.
No Dance Student should wait or be asked to wait outside the hall to be collected. If parents are running late, parents should ring and advise. Call reception 0419 840 005
When Dance Students leave the inside of the hall, they are out of the care of Dancing Stars Toowoomba staff
Dance Students under the age of 5 years must have at least one Parents/Carers on site during class time/s to assist should the student become distressed

All incidents (injury) caused through dance must be reported to the instructor.
Any recent injury or illness not caused through dance must be reported to the instructor prior to dance lessons prior to the lesson commencing.
The Director/Instructor has the right to ask a student to not participate in dance if they are concerned about a students health at any given time. A student may be required to furnish a medical clearance before they resume dance lessons. The Director will discuss any concerns with the parent/carer/student in such situations.
Parents are asked to clean up, take all rubbish and personal belongings with them upon leaving the hall. The area occupied whilst waiting for students to finish their dance lesson, must be left clean and tidy. If you require a vacuum cleaner, please ask at reception.
Failure to clean up your area on multiple instances may incur a cleaning fee from Dancing Stars Toowoomba.
Emergency Evacuation
In the event of an evacuation, Dancing Stars staff have guidelines to follow to ensure the safety of dancers.
The evacuation assembly area is in the bottom carpark of Glenvale Baptist Church.
Dance Students will be supervised by Dancing Stars staff and Parents at the time of evacuation.
Parents/Carers will be contacted to collect students.
During busy periods, please ensure no fire exits are blocked. These are clearly marked in hall & waiting area.
The hall is equipped with a fire extinguisher however, Dancing Stars priority is to remove all persons from the hall to the evacuation point before attempting to extinguish a fire.
Child Protection
Dancing Stars Instructors/Staff hold a current Working with Children Blue Card.
Parents/Carers are advised, in order to provide adequate dance tuition and correction of technique, it may be necessary for Dancing Stars Instructors to guide a students movement, and this may require physical contact.
Reference should be made to the Health and Safety section of the Terms and Conditions regarding child safety and Parents/Carers responsibilities.
No person is permitted to enter the studio and chastise a child within the studio. Refer to Complaint Protocol below for the appropriate complaint process to follow.
Dance Risk Assessment
Dancing Stars Toowoomba priority is to provide a safe dance experience to all Dance Students.
Unfortunately, hazards exist in all activities and parents should be aware of the hazards that exist within the field of dance.
We have identified the following hazards associated with dance and identified the following controls to minimise potential incidents.
If you are concerned for the physical health of your child undertaking this activity, please consult a sports therapy specialist and advise Dancing Stars Toowoomba.
Hazards:
Personal injury.
Student-to-student contact.
Slipping and tripping.
Controls:
Dance to take place only in class time and on designated dance floor area in the hall.
First aid kit on site
Appropriate uniform & Footwear to be worn.
Appropriate dance floor and area used.
Class sizes kept to reasonable size for the number of Instructors to manage.
Hall kept clean and tidy.
Dance Students to place personal belongings in the hall in the designated area, away from the dance floor area.
Dance floor kept free of obstacles.
Staff to undertake first aid course.
Instructors must conduct warm up exercises before commencing dance tuition and stretching only after class.
Verbal instructions to be sensible and careful.
Correspondence
To keep fees at a very reasonable price for Parents/Carers, the main form of correspondence will be via email & Facebook.
It is the responsibility of Parents/Carers to read all correspondence generated throughout the year.
Social Media
Dancing Stars Toowoomba information can be found primarily on the Dancing Stars Parent Facebook Group (this is a closed Facebook group only for Dancing Stars families). To enter please answer the entry questions & await approval.
Media
By ticking the media box in Enrolmy you are giving consent for Dancing Stars Toowoomba to use photographs and/or video footage of the Dance Student for promotional purposes e.g. website, newspapers, events, or shopping centres (please note, individuals full names will not be used unless further permission has been granted from Parents/Carers.
For the protection of all Dance Students including Children in Care, there is to be strictly no video recording of Dancing Stars lessons without permission of the Studio Director. Please be aware that Dancing Stars has the right to produce video clips and/or sell videos of Dance Students who participate in the concerts and/or performances and/or group photos in compliance with parent/carer consent. Videos/photos produced by DST for media purposes will be edited to ensure compliance with parent/carer consent. Original photographs/videos taken by staff are held securely at the postal premises of Dancing Stars Toowoomba.
If the Dance Student and/or Parents/Carers does not want the childs photo used for publicity purposes, the Dance Student or Parents/Carers (where the student in under 18 years of age), is responsible for notifying Dancing Stars Toowoomba in writing and updating their Enrolmy details.
Complaints Protocol
All complaints should be made to the Dancing Stars Toowoomba Director/Reception.
All complaints will be recorded at the time of the complaint and addressed by the director on the night initially by phone and by a follow up face to face meeting should that be desired.
Due to the Director providing dance tuition most afternoons, complaints cannot be addressed during class times unless the complaint refers to a direct & emergent Health and Safety issue.
Amendments to the Terms and Conditions
There may be a need to update the Dancing Stars Toowoomba Terms and Conditions throughout the year based on changes to government legislation, changes Dancing Stars Toowoomba protocols etc. Any changes to the Terms and Conditions will be communicated to Parents/Carers and Dance Students as a new version to this existing Terms and Conditions.
Uncontrolled document - Dancing Stars Toowoomba reserves the rights to the correct and most up to date Terms and Conditions document held within their possession at any given time.
