The safety and security of our visitors is of paramount importance to us as we protect the participants in our Young People’s Art Class Program (YPACP) and (ADULT) Art Classes and SHP(School Holiday Art Program).
The following conditions of entry apply to all people attending Lavender Art Studios (The Studio) for the YPACP/ADULT and SHP and set out the terms on which you may enter The Studio, whether for the purpose of attending an art class or for any other purpose. By entering (or seeking to enter) The Studio you agree to comply with and be bound by these Conditions of Entry.
Please make sure you review these Conditions of Entry thoroughly. If you do not understand any part of these Conditions of Entry, please contact The Studio for further clarification.
The Studio may amend these Conditions at any stage at its absolute discretion.
REFUSAL OF ENTRY
For the comfort, safety and enjoyment of all patrons, The Studio reserves the right to:
• refuse entry at their discretion;
• refuse entry to any unauthorised persons;
• refuse entry to any parent during any class of the YPACP;
• refuse entry to any persons deemed to be intoxicated and/or disorderly or suspected to be under the influence of illegal substances; and
• refuse entry to any person who attempts to bring any restricted or prohibited item into The Studio.
• refuse entry if all the terms/conditions of entry are not adhered to.
YPACP /ADULT TEACHING PROTOCOLS AND ARTISTIC MATERIALS
The Studio reserves the right to:
• develop and determine the artistic program, themes and teaching methodology of the art classes.
• determine The Studio needs and artistic material requirements of the art classes.
• exclude or remove any participant in the YPACP/ADULT if that participant brings artistic materials or supplies into the class which are outside those purchased from The Studio;
• provide suitably qualified and trained assistant art teachers at the absolute discretion of The Studio;
• revise and implement any teaching protocol deemed necessary by The Studio from time to time for the purpose of the YPACP./ADULT
Please Note: Gregory Mackay owns the intellectual property of his art class programs; his teaching methods, approaches to tools and his approaches to teaching art. Gregory Mackay has devisded the art programs that he teaches to be taught at Lavender Art Studios only and only under his direction.
EXPECTATIONS & REQUIREMENTS – PARENTS & GUARDIANS & ADULTS.
The Studio expects and requires that all adults,parents and guardians of children participating or entering the art studio to observe the following conditions:
Teaching
• The total teaching practise and art studio is entirely under the direction of Greg Devenny-Mackay for the duration of all art classes.
• All participants are to accept the art tuition in accordance with Greg’s instruction.
• All assistant art teachers are trained and supervised by Greg. Requests by adults/parents that children are to be taught by one particular teacher will not be granted.
Please note - the assistant teachers have:
(a) been trained by Greg for many years;
(b) have no less than 5 years in the art studio prior to being offered an assistant position;
(c) are employed under a work place agreement; and
(d) Greg has devised a meritocratic system for teacher selection and employment based on artistic skill, ability, talent and personal attributes.
• Assistant art teachers are not to be approached regarding the artistic progress.
For feedback regarding a student’s artistic progress and development, parents and guardians, adult art students are encouraged to personally approach Greg Devenny–Mackay for the purposes of face-to-face communication and verbal feedback.
• Materials and Supplies
The art supplies packs are put together in The Studio’s shop and by participating in the art classes you agree that no other art supplies will be used to complement the teaching practise at The Studios. Art Materials costs in the regualr term art classes are a seperate cost to tuition fees.
Parents/Adult Art Studenst agree to purchase all art supplies needed through The Studio shop.
Parents/Adult Art Students must ensure good care of the art supplies; including keeping art bags clean and tidy with all art supplies named.
For the purpose of learning art at The Studio; to each art class that students are booked into during the term, Art Students do need to bring the art supplies purchased from the art studio shop to the art classes. It is the responsibilty of the art student to bring the art supplies to the studio. The art materials packs contain all the necessary art materials to accomplish the art class programs delivered at The Art Studio. It is not the responsibility of the art studio to ensure that students bring their own art supplies to the studio.
Art Materials costs are seperate to the art tuition fees.
For the purpose of learning art at The Studio, do not bring any other art suppies into the art studio other than those purchased via the art studio shop.
DURATION
If you enrol your child into a 2 hour afternoon art class we will offer:
9 art classes in the art studio and 1 - 2 hour Sunday Art Excursion.
If you enrol your child into a 2 hour Saturday art class we will offer:
9 art classes in the art studio and 1 - 2hour Saturday Art Excursion.
Adults will enrol in 9 art classes delivered at the art studio and 1 term off-site art excursion.
CATCH-UP ART CLASSES
During the term, 1 catch-up art class will be offered for a missed art classes.

No catch-up art class will be offered for missed art excursions.
The missed art class is only offered in term of enrolment/participation and not transferrable from previous or to future terms.
A term catch up art class will not be offered in the Lavender Art Studios Holiday Art Workshops or other Specialised Art Workshop.
Please mail [email=office@lavenderartstudios.com.au]office@lavenderartstudios.com.au[/email] if your child will miss 1 art class. The missed art class arrangements note will be then sent. If your child cannot attend the missed art class; which, at expense to the art studio will be scheduled outside the weekly normal art class timetable; no other art class will be offered. This class will be presented in the second or last week of the term.
If necessary and on request, a second makeup art class will be offered in the term excursion only.
Please Note: Missed Art Classes are not the responsibility of the art studio. Also, the reasons why students miss art classes is not the responsibility of the art studio or the staff at the studio.
EXCURSIONS
Students with special needs who attend an art excursion with The Studio on request will be required to be accompanied by a parent or carer.
Some art excursions require an entry fee payment. This payment is to be made by parents prior to their child or children participating in an excursion with The Studio.
At some excursions, at least one parent will be required to attend. A request note will be sent prior to the date of the excursion.
To be sure that we have not made a change to the event; regardless of the weather, please read your email and the art studio facebook notice at 8am on the day of the excursion.
You must not drop your child at an excursion location or the art studio and drive away. The child must be delivered direcetly to the team at the excursion meeting point or the art studio.
DROP-OFF & PICK-UP
Parents are responsible for delivering and picking-up their child or children from the first floor studio door of The Studio.
Parents and guardians must not drop children off at the bottom door and drive away.
Please do not send younger siblings up into the art studios to collect your child.
The Studio accepts no responsibility for any expense, loss, claim or damages however arising if a parent or guardian does not safely deliver their child or children to the first floor studio door of The Studio.
COMMUNICATIONS
Adults, parents and guardians agree that any communication with the Studio or appropriate staff will be courteous, respectful and non-threatening for the purpose of preserving a safe environment for all.
Parents and guardians inquiring about the artistic progress of their child or any other matter related to the teaching or program of the YPACP are only to consult Greg Devenny-Mackay, who will provide feedback as applicable and as soon as practicably possible.
Parents and guardians agree to read, observe and comply with any updated communications with regards to the YPACP and all obligations contained in these conditions of entry.
Parents/Art Students agree to note art class dates in their own personal diary. Please note: that the art studio dates are very important to note. No responsibilty is taken by the art studio if students do not attend the art classes as per the booking made.
Parents are encouraged to access the website and booking platform to confirm class times.
BEHAVIOUR
All participants in the art classes, all parents and guardians of participants and any other person attending The Studio are expected to be polite and courteous at all times.
The Studio reserves the right to immediately withdraw services to a child or adult who is disrespectful whilst participating in a program or when visiting The Studio. No abusive, intimidating, rude, threatening or forceful behaviour will be tolerated. Any behaviour which is considered offensive, inappropriate or interferes with the enjoyment of other patrons within The Studio will be acted upon and may result in the patron being evicted or banned from The Studio.
HEALTH & SAFETY
All safety instructions given by The Studio are to be adhered to by adults, parents and those young people attending The Studio’s excursions.
For the purpose of ensuring the health and safety of all participants, parents and guardians are required to disclose all medical conditions on the form provided. Please Note: The Studio has a medical form that we use for both the holiday and term program and requests a doctor’s medical plan to follow. Further, The Studio assesses children on an individual basis and will put a support plan into place where appropriate.
The Studio reserves the right to request further information regarding any medical condition disclosed for the purpose of ensuring The Studio continues to operate a safe and healthy environment for all participants, staff and visitors.
All requests to administer medications must be endorsed by a written and signed note.
Any medical support plans put into place for the purpose of ensuring the health and safety of any and all participants in the YPACP by The Studio must be adhered to.
All information in relation to medical conditions is kept private and confidential.
If a child arrives at The Studio and is clearly or visibly crying, unwell or in the opinion of The Studio is demonstrating signs that he or she does not wish to participate in the art class on that particular day. The catch-up art class will be recommended and immediately offered. The parent or guardian will be politely asked to take the child home; regardless of any request by a parent or guardian for the child to remain at the studio. The Studio reserves the absolute right to exclude the child from a class of the YPACP.
Do not send your child to art classes if they are very sick with a flu or other contagious illness.
Do not enter the at studio if you are unwell.
MAKING A BOOKING
Bookings are made on a term basis. The art studio cannot hold place/s if a booking is not made via the art studio booking platform. The bookings open mid - term for the next term of art classes and booking invitations are sent to all those enrolled in that current term. No responsibility is taken by the art studio or staff if a first preference class time is not secured by a firm booking. Bookings are only considered secured once the payment has been received by the studio.
FEES
For term art classes:
You will pay for 9 art classes in the art studio and 1 - 2hour art excursion per term. We do offer teaching service/full supervision at the excursions.
Regardless of the students attendance you will be required to pay for 10 sessions of art.
Full Payment is required as per the invoice generated by the booking platform.
No refunds are given after booking and paying for a place at the art studio,
The Studio’s accounting and financial records are managed and maintained by a professional accounting firm. The financial records are assessed on a daily basis and any payment that is outstanding for any reason will be followed up by The Studio in consultation with the studio accountant for immediate rectification and clarification.
Art Supplies are a seperate cost to the art class tuition - 10 art classes; please contact the art studio on 0412 649 770 to discuss the art supplies packs before making a booking.
No refunds are given.
You agree to pay the invoice that you generate by making a booking by or on the due date noted on the invoice. At the time you book a place/s the invoice will be automatically sent from the booking platform to the email that you note as your contact at time of booking. You understand that if you make a booking that you do need to secure the booking/place by making the booking.
In the event of another closure due to COVID 19 or any other unforeseen circumstance that is out of our control, the online art classes will be put into place immediately. If you book yourself or child/children into a term of art classes, you need to accept that the on-line classes will substitute the face to face teaching of art classes. All 10 term art classes must be paid for regardless of participation at the art studio or online.
SCHOOL HOLIDAY ART WORKSHOPS:
All students must be in optimum health to attend the art studio.
No refunds are offered for non-attendance.
Please choose carefully as no refunds are given once bookings are made.
In the unusual event that a holiday workshop needs to be cancelled; 3-5 days notice will be given. We will endeavour to offer another suitable workshop. The art studio manager will work directly with parents to re-place a child/children into another suitable workshop or offer a future credit. As compensation for the inconvenience caused, we would also offer 1 free workshop. Please note: the projected program planning is subject to having a minimum number of bookings in any given workshop and we appreciate parents understanding.
Important points:
We can not accomadate individual needs or requests; for example, we do not offer half term places, we do not offer refunds for those who move interstate or go on holidays. We do not off - set art materials costs in lieu of missed art classes/workshops. Early withdrawl from art classes/workshops or art retreat does not constitute a refund of fees already paid or due; all art classes/artworkshops/retrears must be paid; as per the advertised art program; regardless of attendence.
Adults are not permitted to join the young people's art classes.
Young people must be 18 years to join the adult art classes. Referrals to other suitable art programs can be made.
Gregory and Elizabeth Mackay; Directors/ Owners of the art studio determine the conditions of entry to the art studio and all decision making in relation to Lavender Art Studios Art Classes and related art services; and not those who enrol into the art classes or visit the art studio.
PROMOTIONS
Unless authorised in writing by The Studio, no promotion or advertising of any art program, course or materials is permitted at The Studio;
All promotions in The Studio are undertaken by the Directors.
Excluding photography by a parent or guardian of their own child or children and their artworks, photography of any type is prohibited in The Studio or on any excursion conducted by The Studio.
If a participant submits or intends to submit an artwork or photograph created at The Studio to any art competition or exhibition, the participant must acknowledge that the artwork or photograph was created under the direction and supervision of Greg Devenny-Mackay at The Studio.
Unless permission is granted by the Directors, No photos are permitted to be taken by students or any person at the studio.
STUDIO ACCESS
Parents and guardians are not permitted to enrol in the YPACP as a student. However, parents can enrol into the adult art classes.
Parents are not permitted to stay in The Studio whilst the YPACP is in operation.
If access to the art studio becomes problematic to any art student, then a suitable referral to another art service will be made. Please note: there is no lift at the art studio.
