TERM 4 2026 - Luscious Landscapes

This term, students will explore landscapes through the work of Aotearoa artists Christine Lang, Raewyn Harris, Flox (Hayley King) and Tallulah Nunez. Across the nine weeks they will build confidence with acrylic and watercolour painting, sketching, colour mixing, layering, shadows, texture, pattern, stencil-making and intuitive mark making.

Students will create a series of artworks ranging from realistic landscapes to bold birds and foliage and richly patterned abstract scenes, with an optional mixed-media landscape extension using painted papers, collage and textured materials.

The focus throughout the term is on developing strong foundational painting skills while encouraging each child to experiment, make creative choices and develop their own individual artistic style.

Free Trials:

One free trial per child. Free trials are only for families that haven't attended a Creative Matters holiday workshop, after school class or received a free trial during a previous term.

Our art classes are designed for children who are interested in art and who are capable of focusing on a creative project for a 1.5hr Art session after a full day of school (with breaks of course). Please ensure your child is interested in the term project. If you are booking in a 5 year old, please make sure they are up to working in this way for a whole session.

Terms & Conditions — Creative Matters

The following terms apply to both our After School Workshops and Holiday Workshops and are designed to ensure a smooth and fair experience for all.

HOLIDAY WORKSHOPS Payment

Payment must be made at least 5 days prior to the class.
Bookings are only confirmed once payment is received.

Unpaid Bookings

If payment isn’t received on time, your booking will be moved to the Waiting List and offered to the next person.

Unable to Attend

Please notify us via email (admin@creativematters.co.nz), phone, or text if your child can’t attend.

Credits Only Policy

We do not offer refunds for holiday workshop changes or cancellations.
If you notify us of changes or cancellations at least 5 days in advance, a credit will be issued for use within 12 months.
Credits are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Cancellations

Holiday workshops require a minimum of 6 children to proceed.
In the unlikely event that we have to cancel a class due to low enrollments, you’ll be notified at least 2 days in advance. You will have an option of a credit note for future bookings or a refund.
Please allow upto 10x working days for refunds to be processed, we are a small team working flexible hours.

Class Ratios

Maximum of 13 children per class with one educator.

AFTER SCHOOL WORKSHOPS Term Bookings

Classes begin in Week 2 of each school term (unless otherwise stated).
Full payment is required before the programme begins.
Weekly payment arrangements are not available.
Bookings are confirmed once payment is received. Payment needs to clear at least 5 days prior to the term start date.
We operate on teacher only days as normal.

Class Ratios

Maximum of 13 children per class with one educator (13:1 ratio).

Missed Classes

If your child is unable to attend, please text your educator directly.
Missed classes cannot be made up, refunded, or credited.

Credits Only Policy

Once the term begins, no refunds will be issued under any circumstances.
If your child is no longer able to attend and we are notified at least 7 days prior to the term start date, a credit can be applied to your account.
Credits are valid for a future booking within 12 months and are non-transferable.

Class Cancellations

If a class is cancelled due to external circumstances (e.g. venue closure), a make-up class will be provided in person or online.
If an educator is sick or isolating, a replacement will be arranged or a make-up class scheduled.

Low Enrolment

A minimum of 6 children is required for a class to proceed.
Booking numbers are reviewed 3 days before the first class. If low, the start may be postponed by one week.
In the unlikely event that we have to cancel a class due to low enrollments after this review, you will have an option of a credit note for future bookings, or a refund.
Please allow upto 10x working days for refunds to be processed, we are a small team working flexible hours.

BEHAVIOUR POLICY Our workshops are for children who are enthusiastic about art and can focus for several hours (with breaks). If a child is disengaged or disrupting the environment, we may contact you to pick them up early. In this case, a refund for the unused portion of the session may be offered.

RISK & SAFETY

Each venue has a current risk assessment, available upon request.
All educators are police vetted and trained to manage venue-specific risks.
Children are supervised at all times, and you will be contacted immediately in the event of an incident.
