Our art classes are designed for children who are interested in art and who are capable of focusing for 6 hours on a creative project (with breaks of course). Please ensure your child is interested in the projects you have chosen. If you are booking in a 5 year old, please make sure they are up to working in this way for the whole day.

Terms & Conditions for Creative Matters

AFTER SCHOOL WORKSHOPS

Payment is set for one term of classes, starting in week 2 of each term. Bookings will be confirmed upon receipt of payment.

RATIOS - All of our classes have a maximum of 13 children in a class and a 13:1 ratio.
PAYMENT - Term bookings must be paid in full before the programme begins. We do not allow weekly payment arrangements.

UNABLE TO ATTEND A CLASS - Your educator should be contacted by text if your child is unable to attend a workshop. For a whole term of workshops, classes missed by individuals can not be made up or refunded.

REFUNDS/CREDITS - Term bookings can not be refunded or credited once workshops have started, unless special circumstances are discussed with and accepted by our CEO Mandy.

CANCELLATION
If a class has to be cancelled due to outside circumstances and through no fault of Creative Matters, a make up class will be provided in person or online. No refund will be made.
If your educator is sick or unable to teach a workshop, a replacement educator will be organised or a make up class will be provided.

CANCELLATION OF A TERM WORKSHOP - Classes need 6 children or more to be viable and to go ahead. If a whole term programme at a venue has to be cancelled due to insufficient numbers you will be notified at least 3 days before the first workshop. You can opt for a credit for the following term or a refund.

CLASSES UNABLE TO OPERATE ON SITE DUE TO SCHOOL CLOSURES or TEACHER ONLY DAYS: Our classes run regardless of what is happening in the school.

HOLIDAY WORKSHOPS Payment to be made 2 days before the class. Bookings will be confirmed upon receipt of payment.

RATIOS - All of our holiday classes have a maximum of 13 children in a class with 1 educator.

UNPAID BOOKINGS MOVE TO THE WAITING LIST - If we haven't received payment 2 days before the class, your booking will move to the Waiting List and we will offer the place to the first person on the Waiting List

UNABLE TO ATTEND A CLASS - Our administrator Suze should be contacted by email (admin@creativematters.co.nz), phone or text if your child is unable to attend a workshop.

REFUNDS - Two days notice is required to receive a refund for a holiday workshop

CANCELLATION - Workshops may have to be cancelled if less than 6 children are booked in. You will be contacted in advance

RISK ASSESSMENTS

Each holiday venue has a current risk assessment document. Please contact our CEO Mandy if you would like a copy of this. All schools have risk assessments that can also be accessed, for our after school class users. Educators are aware of the risks at each venue and do everything they can to moderate the risks. Children are supervised at all times. and parents are contacted immediately if there is an incident with their child.

All of our educators are police vetted.

BEHAVIOURAL EXPECTATIONS

Our holiday art classes are designed for children who are interested in art and who are capable of focusing for 6 hours on a creative project (with breaks of course). Before booking, please ensure your child is able to focus all day and apply themselves to projects of this nature.

You will be contacted to pick up your child if your child is disengaged or behaving in a way that disrupts the class and the teacher. This is to ensure everyone gets the most out of their day and the environment is positive for all participants.A refund for the remaining hours will be issued.

DATA USE & PRIVACY We will periodically send you emails with relevant information eg. early access to new workshops, tips on how to bring creativity into your conversations with children etc. We will never share your details with a third party. You can unsubscribe at any time.
