British Young Pilots offers a truly unique and inspiring opportunity for young people aged 10–16 to begin their journey into the world of aviation.

 

Our flying clubs combine classroom learning with hands-on simulator training, giving students an engaging introduction to the skills and knowledge required to become a pilot. Through a mixture of aviation theory and practical flying exercises, students explore subjects such as aerodynamics, meteorology, navigation, aircraft systems and flight planning.

 

A key part of the programme is our use of professional flight simulators. By learning and practising flying techniques on the simulators, students can develop their skills in a realistic environment before applying them in a real aircraft. This approach allows them to build confidence and competence while keeping costs affordable for families.

 

Students also have the opportunity to fly a real aircraft and put their newly acquired knowledge and skills into practice. While regular flying is encouraged, it is entirely optional, and we typically recommend 1–2 flights per term. Flights are charged separately at £99 per 30-minute lesson.

 

Beyond aviation, the club helps young people develop confidence, resilience, problem-solving skills and teamwork, while becoming part of a supportive and enthusiastic community of like-minded students who share a passion for flight.

 

Children are welcome to join for a single term, but those who choose to continue can progress through the full British Young Pilots syllabus, completing Intermediate Modules A–D and Advanced Modules E–H while working towards recognised civilian aviation qualifications and exams along the way.

 

For motivated and committed students, this pathway provides a genuine route into aviation, with the opportunity to achieve a Private Pilot Licence (PPL) by the age of 17.
