About Bread of Life Trust OSCAR
Bread of Life OSCAR Programmes give your kids the opportunity to do the things they enjoy in a supportive and encouraging environment.
OUR AIM: To meet the needs of families in the wider Blenheim community by providing a secure, stimulating, consistent, professional, and caring environment.
OUR MISSION: To make Jesus visible in our community through actions of love, concern, and support
OSCAR stand for Out of School Care and Recreation. Bread of Life OSCAR is a group-based programme. Currently we manage six different programmes at 3 venues. We provide Before School, After School and Holiday programmes. All these programmes are managed by The Bread of Life Trust. The OSCAR staff are employed by the Trust to provide a safe, stimulating, caring and comfortable environment, considering children’s individual needs. The programme is not highly structured but does include one planned activity each session. In holidays the programme is structured with many activities during the day to give variety for the children. Art and craft materials, games for different ages and sports equipment are all available. Activities are well supervised whether indoor or outdoor and a quiet rest space is available for those children wishing to do homework or having time out.

Terms & Conditions
Bread of Life OSCAR Terms and Conditions:
I wish to enroll my child/ren in the Bread of Life Out of School and Recreation Service after having received and understood all the necessary information. I acknowledge and agree to the following conditions:
- I understand that when I select the transport option for before and after school care, I am giving consent for my child/ren to be collected and transported to or from programmes via the OSCAR vans.
- Where applicable during outings for holiday programmes, I understand that I am giving consent for my child/ren to be transported to and from an activity away from an OSCAR site, either via OSCAR vans or a walking taxi with staff.
- My child/ren will be collected on time at the end of the programme or a late fee of $10 will be charged.
- Only persons appropriately identified on the enrolment form will be allowed to collect my child, unless the Supervisor has been previously advised, by the primary caregiver.
- I acknowledge that it is advisable to set up an Automatic Payment to pay the weekly fees in order to stay on top of my fees. (We do not charge for statutory holidays).
- I understand that a late payment fee of $15 may occur if I do not pay within the invoice due date.
- I agree that non-payment of fees will result in my child/ren's place being cancelled and my account being sent to the debt collectors. I acknowledge that, should my account be outstanding without an arranged payment plan, I will be liable for debt collectors' fees.
- I understand that I must pay a deposit of 25% of my total invoice for holiday programmes before the programmes start to secure my space.
- I agree and understand that if I have not paid off my account from previous programmes by the start of a new term/holiday programme, my child will not be able to attend until my account is settled.
- On occasions that the child/ren will not be attending a pre-booked session I will inform the Supervisor.
- I understand that, unless a full weeks notice is given in advance for absences, full fees will be charged.
- I understand that if my child/ren require leave from registered OSCAR days for a period of more than two weeks, and I wish a space to be held for my child/ren, a 50% retainer fee of set fees will be charged weekly.
- I understand that I must give one week's notice if I decide to permanently remove my child from OSCARs at any time during the year and I am accountable for the fees during that week.
- I understand that DURING HOLIDAYS if a complete booking is cancelled, I will need to pay a $20 cancellation fee.
- Any disagreement regarding fees is to be addressed to the Manager or Financial Administrator.
- The office will be advised immediately of any change in details contained in the enrolment form, addresses, emails, phone numbers, authorized caregivers, health issues and medications.
- I understand that if my child is on any form of medication that needs to be taken while at OSCARs (specifically holiday programmes) the child MUST have this medication with them, otherwise I will be called and asked to either deliver the medication or pick up my child.
- The Supervisors may arrange urgent medical treatment for my child at my expense.
- If my child has come down with a stomach bug (i.e., vomiting, diarrhea, etc.) I will inform the OSCAR Office and Supervisor and will keep my child home until 48 hours after the last event of vomiting, diarrhea, etc.
- If my child has come down with a communicable disease (i.e., chicken pox, head lice, COVID-19, etc.) I will inform the OSCAR Office straight away and keep my child home. I give permission for the OSCAR Manager to inform parents from my child's programme (anonymously) that a child in attendance has come down with a communicable disease.
- The Supervisors will be advised of any situation which may be disturbing to my child/ren.
- It is my responsibility to ensure that my child acts in an appropriate manner while at OSCARs.
- I agree and understand that any behaviour of my child, which consistently affects the quality care available to other children, may result in suspension or removal from the programme as set out in the Behaviour Management Policy.
- I agree to pay for damage willfully caused by my child.
- I understand that my child/ren is responsible for their own property.
- I give my permission for my child/ren to go on pre-arranged outings; these are advertised in the holiday programme or noted at the after-school programmes.
- Photographs of my child/ren may be used for genuine resources and publicity purposes unless communicated otherwise with the OSCAR Manager.
- I agree to abide by the rules and procedures of OSCAR (a copy of current policies and procedures can be obtained from the OSCAR Manager or on the website.)
- I understand that all staff are screened, trained, and have appropriate experience for the job they do and that Bread of Life OSCAR complies with Health and Safety policies and the National OSCAR Standard, as set out by Ministry of Social Development. However, accidents/incidents do happen, and I will not hold Bread of Life OSCAR responsible for genuine mishaps.
- The Bread of Life OSCAR programme is managed by the Bread of Life Trust, which is separate from the venue where your child/ren will be in care. The management of these venues is not responsible for the OSCAR service, or liable for any act of omission arising from the programme.
