Pattern Making Class - Copy your Clothes
Have a favourite simple garment that you’ve always wished you could replicate? This workshop is for you!
In this workshop you will learn how to copy a garment (without unpicking it) and transfer it into a paper pattern. Along with a whole range of new skills to let you try this technique on a range of garments.
Skills we will cover:
-Taking accurate measurements
-Using pattern making equipment
-Pattern making terminology
-Understanding garment construction
-Copying a garment into a pattern
-Adding seam allowance
-Creating a final pattern
You will need to bring a garment to copy. We suggest bringing a few garment options. We will also have some garments here as a back up. It is best to start with simple garments without draping/pleats/gathers/panels.
Tutor:
Our pattern classes will be taught by Mariya, our pattern expert here at Thread Room. Mariya is a skilled pattern maker with many years of experience working in the New Zealand fashion industry.

x2 Saturday afternoons
Saturday 15th November & Saturday 22nd November (both days need to be attended)
1-4pm
Cost:
$190 includes all equipment and materials used during the classes.
Class size:
Just six students for this class. This means each student will get a lot of focussed attention. This is a group class and there will be a lot to be learned from other students work, as well as your own.

- A few simple garments to practise this technique
- You may want to bring something to take notes
