Devonport - Adults Thursday Beginner Plus Sewing Class
Take your sewing skills to the next level and gain the confidence to tackle more complex projects. Build on the basics while learning the techniques used to make your own clothes.
Class details
For confident beginners who are comfortable with the basics of using a sewing machine and are ready to take their sewing skills further.
In the first half of the term, we'll work through a range of techniques commonly used in clothing — including different types of seams, sleeves, zips, gathering, waistbands, facings, bindings, darts and stretch fabrics — using practical mini-samplers to build your skills. In the second half, you'll put those skills into practice as you work on your own individual project.
This class is a great next step after our Beginner class, but you can also join if you have some previous sewing experience. By the end of the term, you'll have a stronger understanding of garment construction, a range of sewing skills, and the confidence to tackle a wider range of sewing projects independently.
When
