Hem It Yourself — A Thread Room Alterations Workshop
Part of our Alterations Series
How many items are sitting in your wardrobe unworn because the hem is wrong? Too long, too short, or just not quite right?
This workshop is here to change that.
In this hands-on 3-hour session, alterations expert Mariya will walk you through everything you need to know about hemming - from the different techniques to when to use them. You'll practise on samplers first, then work on pieces you've brought from home, leaving with practical skills you'll use again and again.
Who’s this for?
Anyone who wants to fix, alter and give their clothes a longer life. Some sewing machine experience is helpful, as we’ll focus on hemming techniques rather than machine basics - but if you’re newer to sewing, you’re still very welcome. Just let us know when booking and we’ll help get you set up to follow along.
All machines and equipment provided.
