Learn to paint like Picasso with these striking cubist portraits!
Tamariki will be breaking up faces into bold shapes, colours & angles to create their own painting inspired by the artist Picasso.
Create a hidden world inside your bookcase!
Tamariki will design & build a tiny room, garden, or fantasy world inside of a box, designed to fit right in their bookcase! This workshop will encourage creative design, imagination & miniature making techniques to bring a tiny world to life!
Learn the basics of embroidery with your own fabric sampler!
Tamariki will practice classic stitches & embroidery techniques whilst learning about the history of embroidery & how it’s used around the world. Students will take home a decorative sampler that can be hung, framed or given as a handmade gift.
Turn a plain frame into a memorable centrepiece!
Tamariki will build a layered, textured 3D collage onto a picture frame. They will use beads, ribbons and other crafty materials to create a unique 3D frame for a beloved photograph or image.
Turn everyday textures into a stylish tote bag!
Tamariki will learn how to make their own designs in collagraph print using string, ink, bubble wrap & a variety of other textured objects. After a fun day of printmaking tamariki will have a unique tote bag with a one of a kind design!
Welcome the coming of spring with a handmade wreath!
Tamariki will design & build their own seasonal wreath using craft paper, fabric & natural materials that reflects their creativity. At the end of the day they will be taking home a fun, festive piece that can be hung on a door or wall.
Tamariki will sculpt their very own fantastical fairy cottages out of air-dry clay!
We’ll explore 3D building, miniature making techniques & creative storytelling to create tiny homes that look like they belong in a magical garden. Each house will be proudly displayed in our "Tiny Village" at the end of class.
Design & build your own tabletop theatre!
Using cardboard, paper & fabric, tamariki will create their own theatrical scenes that can fit inside a box. This workshop focuses on design, construction and visual storytelling to create a fun miniature stage featuring their own original story!
Turn ordinary socks into quirky, lovable characters!
Using fabric, buttons, wool & other craft materials, tamariki will design their own unique puppet bursting with personality & creativity. Will your puppet be a magical creature, or a favourite character? This workshop encourages imagination, fun & learning textile sculpture skills, while creating a new friend to take home!
Turn trash into transportation by making automotive-themed sculptures from recycled materials!
Part imagination, part invention, tamariki will design & build their own miniature mode of transportation using an array of found materials.
