Pointy Dog Dance Company provides an opportunity for dedicated young dancers to train, create and perform together. Running for over 15 years, the company work with professional dancers and choreographers to train in contemporary dance technique, choreography and performance skills. Dancers aged from 14 – 18 years develop their creative and personal potential, performing a repertoire of both professional and student-directed work in a number of professional forums including Tempo Dance Festival, Auckland Arts Festival and their own end of year showcase.

All dancers between 14-18yrs are encouraged to participate in a friendly audition. Email pointydogdance@gmail.com to register your interest.

Please Note: This class is 'student's only', and observing is restricted to arranged showings.

Teaching Artist: Jessie McCall
Jessie McCall (BPSA Contemporary Dance) is a freelance dancer, choreographer, teacher and producer. She graduated from Unitec with a Bachelor of Performing and Screen Arts majoring in Contemporary Dance, and studied contemporary technique and choreography at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in the USA. She has choreographed and performed in various festivals including Short & Sweet, Tempo, NZ Fringe, Auckland Arts Festival & The Producing Project. In additon to teaching at TAPAC, Jessie tutors at Unitec and secondary schools across Auckland. Jessie is the founder of All You Can Eat Productions, current Artistic Director of Pointy Dog Dance Company and has recently stepped into the role of Festival Producer for Tempo Dance Festival.
