We invite you to register your child to play Yr 3 Netball for St Joseph's Primary School in Term 2 & 3.

Day: Wednesday

Game Times: Varies 4:00pm or 4.40pm

Season Dates: 5 May - 18 August 2025

Game Duration: 15 min skill session then game of 2x8 minute halves

 

REGISTRATION CLOSES: 28 March

 

PLEASE NOTE: The commitment is for both terms.

  

UNIFORM

Attire: Year 0-3 school sports uniform.  Year 4-6 school netball dress (Boys - school sports uniform)

Footwear: Sports shoes or netball shoes

 

Year 1 & 2

This is a 10 week programme and not a competitiion. Goals are not counted.

 

There are no umpires. The game is controlled by the coaches using their voices.

 

Year 1 & 2 play 4 v 4 across one third of a full sized netball court with modified hoops and smaller balls.

 

Year 1 & 2 have a 15 minute skill session followed by 2 x 8 minute halves.

 

Round times at Netball North Harbour on Monday afternoons at 4.00 pm and 4.40 pm

 

Recommended maximum team size is 6 players - this allows for subs and absences.

 

If teams are short of players, they can borrow from their opposition.

 

FEES: $78.00 per player

For a team of 7 to play, additional fee will be required to cover the team registration fee

  

PLEASE NOTE: This DOES NOT include umpire costs of $10 each week.  Once the team has been confirmed these fees will need to be organised by the parents and paid weekly to the umpire.

 

 

 

TRIALS

Year 0-2 children do not trial. Netball trials for Year 3-6 children will be held at school and your child will be advised.  Please make sure that your child has suitable footwear and a water bottle at school on these days.

 

Trialing can be a worrying but also an exciting time for children - especially those who are anxious to improve their skills or who have played with friends and may find themselves in a different team, making new friends for the season. For this very reason we discourage parents from attending the trials. After trials, team placement will be confirmed via email once coaches and managers have been appointed.

  

COACHES / MANAGERS / UMPIRES

All teams will be required to have a Coach and a Manager. Teams playing at NNH must also supply an Umpire. If your team does not have a Coach, Manager or an Umpire they may be withdrawn from the competition.  

If you are unable to arrange your own umpire for year 6 netball at NNH, please email sharon@netballnorthharbour.co.nz and she may be able to assist you.

COACH - The role of the Coach is to train their team on a weekly basis. School will provide an opportunity for court times and it is the Coach's responsibility to ensure that their team practices on a regular basis.

The Coach will work alongside the team Manager to ensure all children are informed of their weekly game time and positions for each game.

MANAGER - The role of the Manager is to collate team information and inform parents and children each week of their game times. The Manager will work alongside the team Coach and attend their team's games. It is also the Manager's responsibility to arrange for the collection of the umpire fee from the office and disburse to the umpire.
