Our Dance and Movement classes are focused on developing a range of dance techniques including the fundamentals of ballet and jazz, creative movement, music and body awareness, and motor skills.

We will be working on fitness, balance, co-ordination, strength, and flexibility in an inclusive environment.

We will use a range of fun props during our lessons and have a real emphasis on fun and participation.

This class is an introduction into the world of dance classes and a stepping stone to our older classes. Parent/Caregiver participation is welcome until the children feel confident to dance independently.

Term Four includes a little 'concert' in the last class where extended family are invited to attend.

Studio Policies: We want our dancers to feel safe, secure, and well supported by both staff and fellow dancers. Teachers and students must show mutual respect, politeness, and be punctual for lessons. Corrections are given and received in a manner suitable for learning and improving for the student. We will not tolerate anybody who participates in verbal or online/cyber bullying of any kind, and any unsafe or disruptive behaviour will be dealt with. We want everyone to enjoy their experience. Filming and Photography: Classes and dancers MAY NOT be filmed or photographed by parents. This is to protect all dancers from un-solicited internet exposure and the intellectual property of the studio and syllabi companies. Risks Related to Dance: We take care in all matters of health and safety and ensure that we minimise the risk of injury within the studio, however, dancers dance in the studio at their own risk. Dance activities involve risk and possible injury. Ongoing injuries should be under the treatment of a professional and the dancer should obey their guidelines of when best to resume dance after treatment. Please inform the teachers of any prior injuries you have, or any injuries that happen during a class. No food or drinks on the dance floor. Noise must be kept to a minimum so that dancers can concentrate fully on the lesson. The Dress Code: All dancers must wear clothing appropriate for exercise and not restrictive of their range of movement. If a class has a compulsory uniform then dancers must be in the correct uniform by their second visit. Responsibility for Property. We cannot be held responsible for the loss or damage of uniform or clothing while the dancers are in the studio. Any items left behind will be placed into lost property and held for the term. If there is no collection after this point we may dispose of the items as we see fit. Billing Obligations and Term fees: Fees and other dance related costs, as given on this enrolment form, will be billed immediately. Fees are expected to be paid in full by the start of each block. Fees that are outstanding will be followed up. There is no obligation for refund of a class missed, unless specifically stated by the studio. Understanding the Schedule: Our timetable is available on both our enrolmy and facebook pages. Parents should take note of the term dates, class times and related events. All dancers should be warmed up and ready for class before the class starts. Our classes run in blocks through the term so do not necessarily start right at the start of term and can finish earlier than the school term. Please refer to your booking confirmation email for all specific dates and times. Attendance Policy: We require that dancers have regular attendance to be able to keep up with class content and build a report with their teachers. Please notify the teachers if there will be an absence. Class cancellation: Parents will be notified via email and text (if opted in) and a notice will be placed on our facebook page. If class needs to be cancelled due to extreme circumstances (ie.teacher illness, weather events) a make-up class will be offered if time in the term allows. No refunds will be offered for unforseen circumstances.
