Join our NZSL Level 1A beginners' course, tailored for those with no prior knowledge of NZSL. Explore the fundamentals of this expressive language, fostering effective communication through sign. After this one-day NZSL Crash Course Unit 1-3, you will receive your official e-certificate in New Zealand Sign Language!

What You’ll Learn:
Meet & Greet: Greetings, introductions, facial expressions, eye-gaze, numbers 1–10, fingerspelling your name.
Our Class: Identify classmates, give/follow instructions, ask questions, use time phrases, count to 20.
Needs & Wants: Food and drink signs, requests, likes/dislikes, locations, emergency basics.
Monica Leach is a Deaf educator and NZSL advocate based in Auckland, with over ten years of experience teaching New Zealand Sign Language. She is a qualified and registered NZSL teacher (NZSLTA) with a BA (Hons) in Deaf Studies and Education from the UK. Now a member of the NZSL Board, Monica is dedicated to promoting NZSL and supporting the Deaf community. Through her business, SignWest, she offers engaging NZSL courses, workshops, and one-on-one sessions that encourage inclusive communication and a deeper understanding of Deaf culture.
