Discover the world of Clay at Parnell Community Centre's NEW art course, 'Ceramics: Hand building Clay KURINUKI day course!'

Take the opportunity to immerse yourself in our exclusive Kurinuki Clay Vessels course this September, a 4-week offering in Term 3 only.
Welcome spring by shaping your own vessel—invest time in learning this traditional Japanese hand-building pottery technique and create a piece ready to cradle the season’s first blooms.

This class is perfect for novice potters, encouraging innovation and confidence in working with clay.
In this mindful 2.5-hour peaceful class, you will carve vessels from solid blocks of clay, revealing sculpted forms that are both expressive and functional.
No experience needed, curiosity is welcomed. Four mornings of hands-on fun and relaxation!
Workshop includes clay.

  • Tuesdays, 9.30am - 12pm
  • Start date: Tuesday 1st September 2026
  • Course length: 4 weeks
  • Cost: $175 * includes all clay.  (Glazes, firing and tools not included. Firing options will be discussed in class. Bring some pottery tools or basic kit can be purchased from the tutor for $20.)
