Buongiorno! Immerse yourself in the beauty of the Italian language with Parnell Community Centre's Italian for Beginners course.
 
Discover basic vocabulary, greetings, introductions, and commonly-used expressions that form the foundation of Italian communication. This course is designed to instill the confidence to embrace the Italian language and encourage you to give it a try. Join us on this linguistic journey, and let the charm of Italian culture enhance your language learning experience.

Our Course: Week 1-2: Introduction and fundamentals
  • Greetings and introductions
  • Numbers, dates and time
  • Basic phrases for daily communication
Week 3-4: Basic grammar and vocabulary
  • Nouns, articles and adjectives
  • Regular verbs and some common irregular verbs
  • Vocabulary for food, travel and accommodation
Week 5-6: Conversation and comprehension
  • Listening and understanding simple dialogues
  • Conversation practice on various topics
  • Reading and understanding simple texts
Week 7-8: Culture and travel preparation
  • Introduction to Italian culture and traditions
  • Useful phrases for traveling (asking for directions, buying tickets, etc.)
  • Simulations of travel situations (restaurant, hotel, train station, etc.)
 
Tutor: Christian Capri
Cristina Capri grew up in Milan’s rich cultural environment, sparking a lifelong appreciation for Italian language and heritage. With formal training in surveying and architecture from Padua and Venice, she brings a deep cultural understanding to her lessons. Cristina has been teaching Italian for many years and loves sharing the language, traditions, and spirit of Italy with her students through engaging, authentic learning experiences.

  1. Italian - Beginners: Ideal for total or relative beginners, this course provides a solid introduction to the fundamentals of the Italian language.
  2. Italian - Post Beginners: Designed for individuals who have successfully completed our Italian Beginners course or possess a basic understanding of the language. Dive deeper into Italian proficiency and build upon your foundational knowledge.
