Blake Haerenga brings together MERCs experience in marine education and recreation with overnight adventurous journeys. Join us on one of our trips and you will gain confidence in your skills on and around the water, all while exploring, learning, and connecting with our Te Tiaio (environment).
This trip is focused on solidifying packing, navigational and camp craft skills to ensure safety, and self-sufficiency out in the bush. Along the way we will navigate our way through Long Bay Regional Park and learn essential bushcraft skills before we head out to Whatipu for 2 nights.
This trip is open to the public, but can be leveraged as an opportunity to complete your Bronze and Silver training, practice & qualifying Journey through the Duke of Edinburgh International Award. If this interests you, get in touch with us for more information. Contact: darren@merc.org.nz
There are only 10 spaces available so get in fast! No experience or fitness is required for this trip, just a sense of adventure, so whether you are a seasoned pro or a complete beginner join us in exploring a little slice of our backyard.
Please ensure you have read, understood, and agreed to MERC’s Ts and Cs, as our risk disclosure details are included in this.
