WHAT:

Kiwi Sticks (Yr. 5 & 6)
Half field
20-minute halves
Must supply own umpire

WHEN: Wednesday afternoons beginning 4pm first round.

WHERE: Park Island, Napier

WHO: Year 5-6 children

UNIFORM: Player's supply own school Performance Shirt (or blue school polo shirt is acceptable), shin pads, blue knee-high socks, mouth guard, navy/dark blue shorts/skort and appropriate sports shoes for turf surface. Performance shirt and blue knee-high socks can be purchased from the uniform shop.

COACHING: Parents/caregivers required to coach and manage the teams.

Havelock North Primary School provides a range of sporting activities.

Our aim is to:

support children to develop skills that enable them to participate confidently in sport
increase the availability and accessibility of sport opportunities for our students at Havelock North Primary School

With the help of staff and community we are able to provide a variety of sports during the week and on the weekend. All students, parents and supporters are expected to adhere to the Havelock North Primary School Fair Play Promise to ensure an enjoyable sporting experience for player, coach and parents alike.

In completing this registration form you acknowledge that you have read Havelock North Primary School Fair Play Expectations and Guidelinesbelow...

Players Expectations & Guidelines I will:

Attend all meetings, training's and games as required.
Notify the manager/coach of any unavailability at least 1 week prior to the playing date. If due to illness, on the day of a game/training, a call must be made to the coach to inform them.
Remain committed to the team, coach and team manager for the duration of the season, even through injury.
Abide by the rules of the sport at all times.
Abide by the schools fair play charter, play with sportsmanship, with respect for other players, coaches, parents and officials.
Wear appropriate team uniform at all times.
Respect the playing environment and any equipment involved in your sport.
Disclose any medical or physical injuries likely to affect your availability or participation during the season.
Play hard but play fair.
Always be a respectful winner and gracious loser.

If the players expectations or parts of are not followed this could result in a stand down period for the player.

Coaches Expectations & Guidelines

Examples of responsible behaviour in sport must be shown at all times. Commitment, sportsmanship, reliability, determination and resilience.
Coaches and children are expected to attend all trainings, meetings and games.
Children will be given equal game time opportunity to develop their skill base and put into place what they learn at training throughout the course of the season.
Children may play in a variety of positions during the course of the season.These positions will be selected on a game by game basis.
For our top teams, from time to time in interschool or challenging games, the strongest team will be selected to represent the school. This may mean that during these games there are some fringe players who may not have significant game time .
Player development and enjoyment is crucial at this level and over the course of the season it would be expected that all players would make a positive contribution to the team.
To remain committed to the team, coach and team manager for the duration of the season.
To abide by the rules of the sport at all times.
Be on time and prepared for training sessions and games.
Maintain honest and open communication with players and parents.
Work toward not only the development of the team but also the development of individual players.
Promote an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration between coaches, players and parents.
Promote good sportsmanship - lead by example.
Maintain a healthy and safe environment for your players.
Show respect for players, other coaches, parents and officials.
Always be a respectful winner and a gracious loser.

The above coaching expectations are to be followed by any coach of a HNPS sport team.

Parents Expectations & Guidelines

I will:

encourage my child to play within the rules and respect officials and coaches decisions
teach my child to respect the efforts of their opponents
remember that children learn best by example so I will applaud good plays/performances by both my childs team and their opponents
give positive comments that motivate and encourage continued effort
support my childs efforts and performance
thank the coaches, officials and other volunteers who give their time to conduct the event for my child
help when asked by a coach or official
respect the rights, dignity and worth of all people involved in the game, regardless of their gender, ability or cultural background

Your payment will be refunded to your child's school statement if you have contact Olivia Currie (sports co-coordinator) to explain your withdrawal from the activity before the registration closing date then you will receive a refund. However if it is after the closing date then no refund will be issued as teams and players will have been registered in the competition and time will have been spent creating the teams.
