PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT When representing Hautapu School while playing sports, I agree too:
Always play by the rules.
Display self control at all times ie/ never argue with an umpire / referee. If I disagree with a decision made I am to inform the coach or manager or official during a break or at the end of a game so the necessary action can be taken.
Work equally hard for myself and my team.
Play fair at all times and display good sportsmanship.
Treat all players in my sport as I like to be treated. I will not bully or take unfair advantage of another competitor.
Cooperate and show respect to my coach, teammates and opponents.
Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all people involved in the game regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background.
Always attend training sessions unless there is a reasonable excuse: regular non attendance may result in limited game time
Arrive at games with the correct gear ie/ shin pads, mouth guards and make sure I am dressed appropriately for the sport (in my Hautapu School Uniform)
Thank the opposition and officials, including coaches and managers at the end of the game.
PARENT / CAREGIVER / SUPPORTERS CODE OF CONDUCT As a parent / caregiver of a player representing Hautapu School I will adhere to the following:
Not pressure my child in any way – I know that this is their game not mine and it is about having FUN!
Encourage my child to play within the rules and respect officials’ and coaches’ decisions.
Ensure my child is at the game on time for the warm up and team talk and will communicate with the manager if unable to do so.
Remember that children learn best by example, so I will applaud good plays/performances by both my child’s team and their opponents.
Give positive comments that motivate and encourage continued effort and never ridicule or shout at players.
Support my child’s efforts and performance and the performance of all other participants.
Show appreciation to those people who volunteer their time so my child can play sports and respect their decisions.
Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all people involved in the game, regardless of their gender, ability or cultural background.
Understand the coach is not responsible for my child/ren. If I can not be at a practise or a game, I will make sure the coach is aware and put the necessary transport plans in place.
Report any inappropriate behaviour at sporting events to coaches and Sports Coordinator.
Arrive at practises and games without being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Ensure all sport charges are paid; where cases of financial hardship exist, the Teacher in charge of Sport or the Principal should be approached
