Kids Understanding Basic Skills (KUBS) - Sport Incursion For Your Preschool!
What is KUBS?
Kids Understanding Basic Skills (KUBS) is our preschool-specific movement program for children aged 2–5 years, designed to support early development through play-based, engaging activities.
Across the program, children get the chance to:
- jump, balance, throw, catch and move their bodies in lots of different ways
- build confidence and independence
- practice social skills like turn-taking, listening and working together
- enjoy being active in a relaxed, non-competitive environment
Sessions are run by our friendly, qualified GeckoSports coaches and are designed to fit seamlessly into your day. KUBS is aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards, while still feeling fun and child-led.
How does it work?
We know every centre is different, so we keep things flexible. KUBS can be offered as:
- a centre-funded program
- a parent-paid optional extra, or
- a mix of both, depending on what works best for your families
Programs usually run for 4–10 weeks, with session lengths usually around 30-45mins and group sizes ideally at about 10 kids. We bring all the equipment, you just provide the space and the kids!
