Our Everyone Out Nature School programme is based at Paparangi Scout hall and Seton Nossiter Park where tamariki (children) aged 5 to 12 years old can explore and learn in a free-flowing outdoor environment. Our one-day programme runs for 9 consecutive Tuesdays within the school term, offering tamariki the opportunity to build confidence, resilience, and a deep connection with nature during the school day.
Our Location
Seton Nossiter Park is a rich, diverse natural environment — complete with waterfalls, fairy trails, and hidden valleys. We also have access to the Paparangi Scout Hall for wet weather days and have a strong partnership with the Scouts and local ranger. Most days our base will be at the area directly adjacent the Scout hall and we will take trips to the picnic area in Seton Nossiter Park where there is a stream, bush, mature trees and a large open grass space. The environment and our equipment make rich opportunities for free play, self-directed learning, and hands-on experiences. The Park is large so there are almost endless possibilities and opportunities to explore and discover.

Each session is child-led, allowing tamariki to follow their interests in a supportive and enriching environment. Possible things your child may do or learn include:

A primary purpose of Everyone Out Nature School is to provide for authentic, self-directed learning to build skills such as; collaboration, problem solving, risk assessment, resilience, confidence, determination, creativity, imagination, empathy and respect for themselves, others and the environment. Our mixed age programmes allow for Tuakana-Teina relationships to blossom, where older tamariki support and mentor younger ones, fostering leadership and cooperation.
