Our Everyone Out Nature School programme is based at Belmont Scout Hall and surrounding recreation reserve where tamariki (children) aged 5 to 12 years old can explore and learn in a free-flowing outdoor environment. Our one-day programme runs for 8 consecutive Wednesdays within the school term, offering tamariki the opportunity to build confidence, resilience, and a deep connection with nature during the school day.

Our Location

Our base at the Scout Hall is surrounded by Belmont recreation reserve which is perfect for adventure and discovery, with bush, gardens, mature trees and a large open grass spaces. The environment and our equipment is rich with opportunities for free play, self-directed learning, and hands-on experiences. We will take spontaneous excursions in the surrounding area to deepen children’s understanding of the natural world. The immediate area has numerous opportunities for tamariki to explore different environments including the Hutt River and Pareraho Forest.

What Your Child Might Experience

Each session is child-led, allowing tamariki to follow their interests in a supportive and enriching environment. Possible things your child may do or learn include:

Exploring the area and its diverse plant and animal life
Flexing gross motor skills and improving physical competence by climbing, running, jumping, balancing and swinging
Building shelters, using ropes and creating imaginative play spaces
Engaging in arts using natural and recycled materials, valuing process over product
Storytelling, drama, and having a safe space to express themself
Taking a quiet moments with books, laying in a hammock or chilling in a tent
Learning how to use tools and kept themselves safe around fire
Making and cooking kai (food) over a camp fire, gas cooker or BBQ

A primary purpose of Everyone Out Nature School is to provide for authentic, self-directed learning to build skills such as; collaboration, problem solving, risk assessment, resilience, confidence, determination, creativity, imagination, empathy and respect for themselves, others and the environment. Our mixed age programmes allow for Tuakana-Teina relationships to blossom, where older tamariki support and mentor younger ones, fostering leadership and cooperation.

Our Team

Our programme is led by experienced kaiako (teachers) who are passionate about outdoor learning and child-led exploration. Our staff are skilled in fostering curiosity, developing teamwork, and ensuring a safe and engaging environment for all tamariki.

Time: 9:15AM – 3:15 PM (Drop-off between 9:00 – 9:15 AM, Pick-up between 3:00 – 3:15 PM)

Fees and Payment

Term fees can be paid in up to 3 instalments, with the first payment due before the first day of the programme.

Terms And Conditions

By enrolling your tamaiti (child) in an Everyone Out programme, you do so in full agreement with these Terms and Conditions and acknowledge that you have read, fully understand and agree to the following: ENROLMENT

Enrolment places will be filled on a first come, first serve, basis. Ahead of enrolments opening, staff tamariki (children),returning students and their siblings will receive a priority place over a new family joining. All spaces are non transferrable. Everyone Out may need to make changes, without notice, to the proposed programme due to environmental conditions, or educator illness or absence.

I give permission for the enrolled child(ren) to participate in the Everyone Out nature programmes at the venue location I enrolled them in, either:

Wilton Park, 208 Wilton Road, Wilton and spontaneous excursions to Otari-Wilton’s Bush.

Island Bay Scout Hall, Dover Street, Island Bay and surrounding lawn, bush, golf course and pine forest.

Nature School I understand that I am enrolling my tamaiti/tamariki to attend the full 8 week term. Booking is not secured until the enrollment form has been completed in full, you have received an email confirming enrollment, and either paid the enrollment fee in full, or agreed upon a payment plan with the Programme Kaiwhakahaere (Manager).

FEES AND PAYMENT

Nature School A one off (non refundable) administration fee of $30 per whanau will be payable at the time of enrolment. Everyone Out Nature School fee is $600 per 8 week term, commitment to the full term is required. An invoice will be emailed at least a week before the start of each term or if starting mid-term within three days of enrolment confirmation. The invoice will detail specific payment options and conditions. Payments can be made via internet banking. A receipt may be issued on request. Payments must be made in advance of sessions commencing. Payments may be made in installments by prior arrangement only.

Holiday Programme Everyone Out Holiday Programme fee is $67 per day. No administration fee applies. A 5% sibling discount applies for any tamariki booked into the same activity as their sibling(s). There are limited spaces available offered at a 50% community service card (CSC) discount. These spaces are for whaanau who would find our fees a barrier to attendance. Please email the Programme Manager at rachel@everyoneout.co.nz to check the availability before making a booking. An invoice will be automatically generated by the enrolmy system. The invoice will detail specific payment options and conditions. Payments can be made via credit card (fees apply) or via internet banking. A receipt will be issued once payment is received. Please note if you choose to pay by Credit Card there will be a small charge of 1.85% of your booking charge added to your total. If you wish to avoid this fee please pay by internet banking. Account information is detailed on your invoice. Payments must be made prior to your tamaitis sessions commencing, but can be made in part payments by prior arrangement only. Non payment of fees (without payment plan agreement) is an automatic notice of withdrawal from the programme, and any outstanding fees will be transferred directly to a third party collection agency. I understand that, as per policy, additional fees maybe be incurred for any tamariki in attendance outside of programme hours.

CANCELLATIONS, ABSENCES AND CHANGES TO ENROLMENT Please note that by completing the enrolment process you have committed to the fee of your child(ren)s enrolment. I understand that refunds will not be given for cancellation of a programme booking. Credits may be given in line with Fees Policy.

PROMOTION AND DATA COLLECTION Everyone Out reserves the right to gather data and keep case studies in relation to progress and achievement; and to use this material in any publications and/or marketing purposes. No real student names will be used in any public forums. Everyone Out reserves the right to take photos and/or video of activities and tamariki participating in those activities, for documentation, data collection, promotional and publicity purposes. Nature School By enrolling at Everyone Out Nature School, you give consent for photos and/or video to be taken of your tamaiti, unless otherwise instructed in writing. Holiday Programme If you DO NOT want your tamaiti to appear in photos and/or video parents must state this by choosing No to the photo permission question on the Enrolmy safety enrolment form.

PRIVACY ACT 1993 STATEMENT :

The information that you have supplied will only be used for the safe and effective operation and management of our programme. The information will not be passed on to any third parties. You are welcome to review the information pertaining to your tamaiti/tamariki enrolment at any time.

DISCLAIMER By completing the enrolment you consent for your tamariki to participate in the programmes activities. You understand that there are risks associated with your tamaiti/tamariki participating, and accept that, to the extent permitted by law, the programme management and staff will not be liable for accidental injuries (and any associated losses) which may occur. To minimise the risk of accidents, the programme has safety procedures, including rules and boundaries for behaviour, that will be consistently applied.

Fee Policy

Everyone Out is a private, fee charging educational service. Timely payment of fees is required in order to maintain the correct kaiako/tamariki ratios and appropriate resource availability. Failure of mtua to follow the rules regarding fee payments may lead to their tamaiti being excluded from the programme.

PROCEDURE: Out of hours fees will apply to any tamaiti who attends outside of programme hours- be it due to early drop off or late pick up.

There is a grace period of 5 minutes, before or after which fees will apply.
Late fees are $10 per 10 minutes, or part thereof, for each tamaiti attending -out of hours.

Fees for all programmes are due at the time of enrolment, and payments must be made prior to booked sessions commencing.

A payment plan may be set up by prior arrangement with the Programme Kaiwhakahaere.

Fee information for Holiday Programme

An invoice will be automatically generated by the enrolmy system.
The invoice will detail specific payment options and conditions.
Payments can be made via credit card (charge of 1.85% of your booking charge applies) or via internet banking.
A receipt will be issued once payment is received.
Everyone Out Holiday Programme fee is $67 per day
There is no minimum booking requirement.
No administration fee applies.
The Everyone Out Holiday programme operates on a no refund policy basis.
If a booking is cancelled more than seven days before the programme commences, a full credit (less a $20 administration fee) will be applied to the relevant enrolmy account.
If a booking is cancelled within seven days of the programme commencing, no credit will be given.
There will be a $20 / child administration fee for all cancellation requests.

[li]Changes to bookings may be made, free of charge, up to seven days prior to programme commencement; though these are subject to availability.[/li]

A booking may not be changed within seven days of the programme commencing.

Note: that the seven day rule above is seven days before the beginning of the holiday period NOT seven days before your booking.

If your tamaiti is absent due to illness or injury, it may be possible to transfer their booking to another day or location within the same holiday period, subject to availability.
No refunds will be given where transfer does not prove possible.
In the case of a long term illness or injury preventing attendance the programme kaiwhakahaere will work with the matua to come to a mutually agreeable outcome
