Pottery Throwing on the Wheel with Di Toi

Ability Group: This class is suitable for Adult intermediate students. - Students must have attended pervious classes with Di Toi or have experience working with clay on the wheel.

Join this fun relaxed class to develop your skills on a potter’s wheel. The next step is to work on your consistency with throwing and trimming and to try making something bigger or taller. Di will demonstrate a new technique or form each week e.g., a bottle form or a lidded cannister. Di will be on hand to help you bring your ideas to life. We will try out some decorating effects using underglaze painting and carving. In the final class once your forms have been bisque fired you will learn more skills on how to dip glaze your work effectively.

Materials:
Wear old clothing and bring an apron and a hand towel.
Students must have their own clay and basic clay tool kit.
Tool Kits can be purchased directly from Di Toi for $15.00.
Clay is available from CCG Industries, Albany or from Estuary Arts Centre on request.

Glazing and Firing costs are extra.
