Pastels are very versatile, they can be used dry, and blended with the fingers, paper stumps, and colour shapers, or wet either mixed with water or an odourless solvent and put down as a wash under painting.
One of the wonderful qualities of the pastel medium is the pure pigment and how the colour particles catch and reflect light.

Julie is a self taught artist and over the years has developed her skills especially in the medium of pastels. Her love of realism is evident. She is a Master Pastelist with the Pastel Artists of New Zealand ( MPANZ ), a Signature member of the Pastel Society of America PSA and recently gained Master Status with the International Association of Pastel Societies IAPS .She has had much success with national and international awards,. Her artwork is in private collections in the UK, USA, and NZ.

Join Julie and Michael on this one day introductory course. The course is running in co-ordination with our Pastels Exhibition to inspire your inner creativity.

All materials are provided for the course.
