Unlock your inner artist!
 
Come and learn the basics of drawing with Alba! In this course you will learn essential concepts including shape, proportion, tone, composition and perspective, as well as different sketching techniques. You will also work with a variety of materials like pencil, charcoal and pen and you will learn the whole process of drawing both from life and reference pictures.
 
  • Class day and time: Wednesdays, 10.30am -12.30pm

Alba is a Spanish artist from Barcelona now based in Auckland. Alba studied in the Browne School of Arts, in the Waikato Society of Arts and has experience teaching drawing and painting to both children and adults. Alba has a passion and love for drawing, painting, and printmaking, and she likes to experiment with different techniques, media and styles. Her true passion is illustration and recently started to combine her teaching with illustration work. Alba has worked with a famous New Zealand author illustrating the author resent book release.

What to bring

  • Watercolour paints: A beginners set or individual tubes lemon yellow, ultramarine, permanent rose
  • Brushes: 1 x small round watercolour (no 8) 1 x large goat hair brush or large synthetic flat brush.
  • Watercolour paper: a pad or 5 sheets of A4 cold pressed 100% cotton 300gms
  • 1 x empty glass jar
  • Cloth or rag. Masking tape (the purple one). HB pencil and rubber. Mixing palette
