Course Description:

Learn the fundamentals of painting with Alba! In this course you will learn the basics of painting: sketch, shape, tone, composition, how to measure proportions, colour mixing and more. We will explore a variety of techniques and we will work both with still life and reference pictures. (Bring any extra materials not listed that you may have and you want to try in the class)

• Please bring 2x 15cm x15cm (6’’x6’’) canvas, 2 fine round brushes and one flat brush, Phthalo blue, white, cadmium yellow, ultramarine blue, magenta and burnt sienna or yellow umber, student quality acrylic paint, Pencil, paper and a cloth

Tutor: Alba G. Celdran

Alba is a Spanish artist from Barcelona now based in Auckland. Her background is in science but a couple of years ago decided to start a career in art. She’s studied in the Browne School of Arts, in the Waikato Society of Arts and she’s been teaching drawing and painting to kids for the past two years. She loves drawing, painting and printmaking, and she likes to experiment with different techniques, media and styles. Her true passion is illustration and recently started to combine her teaching with illustration work.

Take part in classes and activities at Epsom Community Centre and join in on the fun! Our Term 1 programme runs from February to April 2023.

• Free Justice of the Peace service: Every Wednesday - 9.30am to 12noon. Walk in service and no appointment necessary.
• Social Board Games every Monday's, 9am to 12noon. (Gold coin donation)
• Look out for other Free Social Activities throughout the year.
