Description:
Come and learn the basics of colour mixing for watercolour painting with Alba!
In this 3 hour workshop you will learn how to mix your own colours and the basics of colour theory. After this workshop you will know how to create a colour wheel by mixing only three paints, you will know how to use colour to improve your paintings and you will get familiar with concepts such as colour saturation, temperature, tone, and colour harmony.
This workshop is for beginners or more experienced people who want to learn how to mix watercolour paint to create any desired colour and to learn the main colour theory principles to get better results in their paintings. No previous painting or drawing experience is needed.
Watercolour paints
1 x small round watercolour brush (number 8)
1 x large goat hair brush
Watercolour paper: Cold pressed 25%-100% cotton 300 gms
Watercolour mixing palette (alternative: cheap white ceramic plate)
Cloth/rag
Masking tape (the purple one)
Cardboard board (to tape the paper flat)
Drawing materials: pencil, rubber etc…

Alba is a Spanish artist from Barcelona now based in Auckland. She’s studied in the Browne School of Arts, in the Waikato Society of Arts and she’s been teaching drawing and painting to kids and adults for the past two years. She loves drawing, painting and printmaking, and she likes to experiment with different techniques, media and styles. Her true passion is illustration and recently started to combine her teaching with illustration work.
