*Watercolour for Beginners*
Come and learn the basics of watercolour painting with Alba! In this course you will be introduced to watercolour and the main techniques of this lovely water-based medium. You will also learn basic concepts of tone and colour theory. No previous experience is needed.
Watercolour paints: A beginners set or individual tubes (only 3 primary colours recommended: lemon yellow, ultramarine, permanent rose)
Brushes: 1 x small round watercolour brush (number 8) and 1 x large goat hair brush or large synthetic flat brush.
Watercolour paper: a pad or 5 sheets of A4 cold pressed 100% cotton 300gms (Canson, Fabriano, Arches....)
Cloth/rag.
Masking tape (the purple one).
Watercolour mixing palette (alternative: cheap white ceramic plate).
Drawing materials: pencil, rubber etc...
1 x empty glass jar

Alba is a Spanish artist from Barcelona now based in Auckland. She’s studied in the Browne School of Arts, in the Waikato Society of Arts and she’s been teaching drawing and painting to kids and adults for the past two years. She loves drawing, painting and printmaking, and she likes to experiment with different techniques, media and styles. Her true passion is illustration and recently started to combine her teaching with illustration work.
