We have seven OSCAR approved centres at St.Bernard's school, Ridgway school, Berhampore school, Owhiro Bay school, Roseneath School, Hampton Hill school and St Francis Xavier school. We operate before and after school care as well as holiday programmes all throughout the year except on public holidays and over the Christmas/New Year break.
Each of our centres has a dedicated Supervisor team whom you'll meet when you next visit and each centre also has a dedicated phone number. Use this phone number to reach your centre team for immediate updates/inquiries. Please note that our team don't clock in until just before 7.00am for before school care and at 2.30pm for after school care. The phone numbers are:

Terms & Conditions(TL:DR)
1. Only enrolled child/ren, whether recurring/regular or casual, will be accepted into care.
2. Parents/ caregivers who wish to use Enjoy Childcare Service must make an enrollment(online via Enjoy Childcare website or hard copy available on site).
3. Enjoy Childcare staff will assume that a child/ren will attend the programme if they have been registered for each day and activity.
4. Parents/ Caregivers must sign their child/ren in* and out of the programme every day they attend. *Holiday programmes.
5. The hours for operations are as follows:
- Before School Care: 7.00 8.30 am*Children will be sent to class from 8.30am.
- After School Care: 3.00 6.00 pm
- Holiday Programme: 7.30am - 6.00pm
6. The parents/ caregivers must inform Enjoy Childcare office (via email or call/text) before 6.00pm the day before (for Before School Care) and 2.00pm on the day (for After School Care) if the child/ren are NOT attending the Before/ After School Care session. Bookings on Enrolmy are adjustable by the parents before 2.00pm for After School Care and afterwards these notifications must be sent either to admin@enjoychildcare.co.nz or your centre phone.
7. Parents/ Caregivers must collect child/ren from the After School Care by 6.00 pm and will advise the Enjoy Childcare staff if someone other than the authorized persons will be collecting the child. Unless arrangements are made or extenuating circumstances apply penalty fees will be charged for late pick-up as follows:
- Between 6.00 pm 6.15 pm : $ 20
- After 6.15 pm : $ 10 each minute
8. Parents/ Caregivers must keep their contact telephone numbers current.
9. Parents/ Caregivers will be notified in advance of the details of any/ all activities planned outside the school grounds.
10. Parents/ Caregivers agree to give consent/ permission for the child/ren using the transportation provided by Enjoy Childcare.
11. Written consent must be given if their child/ren has permission to walk, bike or catch a bus home.
12. Newly generated Invoices are sent out every Tuesday in arrears and receipts for payments received will be sent out on Tuesdays as well.
13. Any disagreement regarding fees is to be addressed to Management. Unpaid debts will be placed with a debt collection agency or Department of Courts and parents/ caregivers will be liable for collection fees incurred.
14. Parents/ Caregivers will pay for damage willfully caused by their children. Parents/ Caregivers understand that their child/ren is responsible for their own property.
15. Photographs of child/ren may be used for genuine resources or publicity. Permission will be obtained first from the parents/Caregivers.
16. If care is no longer required, one week notice in writing must be given to the Management.
17. Our device policy is no digital devices are to be used during operation hours. Exceptions for homework may be granted on a case by case basis. Enjoy has a two strikes policy if access for homework purposes is abused.
I agree to abide by the rules and procedures of Enjoy Childcare (a copy of all current policies/ procedures and Terms & Conditions are held at the centre).
I understand that all staff are police vetted, and have appropriate experience for the job they do and that Enjoy Childcare complies with Health and Safety Policies and the National OSCAR standard.
However, accidents do happen and I will not hold Enjoy Childcare, its staff or volunteers responsible for genuine mishaps

Section 1 Overview: Objectives of these policies and procedures
The purpose of these policies and procedures is to:
- provide information about the programme and its operations;
- communicate policies and procedures for parents and employees to ensure the programme can meet its objectives;
- set procedures to be followed when expectations are not met.
Copies of these policies will be available at all times, and will be made available to parents/caregivers when they register their children. Copies will also be made available to staff (Permanent & Casual Staff and Volunteers) that operate the programme. A copy will also be available on the club premises at all times.
Programme Objectives and Management
Enjoy Childcare provides quality childcare services for parents within the central and north Wellington community, both Before and After School Care and Holiday Programmes. The programme aims to provide a safe and stimulating environment which caters for children of different ages, genders and cultural backgrounds while attempting to encompass individual needs and interests.
Enjoy Childcare was Co-Founded by Enrino Pasullean & Josh Brown, it received the OSCAR (Out of School Care And Recreation) Approval from the Ministry of Social Development on the 5th January 2015 and began its first programme at Ridgway School Hall.
Policies and Procedures
The following policies have been developed in consultation with our centre school principals, parents and in line with the guidelines of OSCAR, Ministry of Social Development (MSD).
These policies will be updated as required to reflect current practice and reviewed at least bi-annually as required by OSCAR Approvals Team.
Section 2. Operation
Programme hours
The programme will operate from 7:00 to 8.30 am & 3:00 to 6:00pm Monday to Friday during school terms. In response to demand, the programme may operate on normal school days that have fallen on a one-off event that suspends education, such as a teachers only days. The programme will generally operate between 7.30am and 6:00pm for Holiday Programmes and Monday to Friday during specified weeks of school holidays. The programme does not operate on Public Holidays.
Fees
Holiday Programmes fee structure will be announced prior to commencement of each programme and is to be clearly shown and described on all programme promotional flyers and Enjoy Childcares website. Holiday programme fees will be invoiced in arrears.
Before & After School Care Programme invoices will be sent once a week in arrears. Fees are to be paid by the due date as stated on the invoice. Fees are inclusive of GST but will be added on when parents are invoiced and are clearly described on the Enjoy Childcare website.
Standard Fees as of May 2020.
Before School Care Programme:
- Regular Fee per day: $ 12.00 / child
- Casual Fee per day: $ 14.00 / child
After School Care Programme:
- Regular Fee per day: 22.00 / child
- Casual Fee per day: $24.00 / child
Holiday Programme:
- Standard day: $50.00 / child
- Trip day: $55.00 / child
Overdue accounts
Enjoy Childcare has a set procedure to follow regarding outstanding or overdue accounts. These procedures include two warning letters/emails, a withdrawal of services letter/email and then formal collection procedures.
Work and Income (WINZ)
You must have applied for your subsidy and WINZ must send us proof of your application prior to the commencement of any of the Enjoy Childcares Programmes. Without proof, full payment will need to be received and in this case a refund will be given as soon as payments have been received from WINZ.
Enrolment Procedures
All families must complete an enrolment form via Enjoy Childcares booking site Enrolmy. It is the parent/guardians responsibility to ensure the below information is up to date.
We need to collect and update the following information:
- Childs name, address and home phone number;
- Parent/guardians names and work phone number;
- Two emergency contacts;
- Names of adults authorised to pick up child;
- Special instructions regarding access;
- Health problems, allergies and instructions for any medication;
- Any other information necessary to provide proper care;
Parents are responsible for ensuring enrollment information is kept up to date/ current.
Drop off and pick up
Parents are expected to sign their children in and out of the Holiday Programme, and out of the Before & After School Care Programme. Parents are expected to contact the administrator or centre phone before the beginning of the programme if their child will not be attending.
During School terms children will be met at the school office and seen safely across the road, five and six year olds will be collected from their classroom and accompanied to the centre. Parents are expected to inform the supervisors if they will be dropping children off late or picking them up early.
If the group is not in the centre (for example, outside in the playground) and parents are picking their children up, parents must make sure that the staff know their child has been picked up and they have been signed out.
Attendance
Parents failure to notify of childs absence from the programme
The following steps will be taken if a child does not arrive at the programme without prior arrangement or notification:
- Parents will be telephoned by onsite staff;
- If parents are unavailable, emergency contacts will be telephoned;
- If it is After School Care and no contacts are available, the school will be contacted for absence information;
- Local police may be contacted if there is still concern.
Missing child
Formal attendance checks and head counts will be made regularly and often during the day. If a child is missing, the following procedure will be followed:
- Staff will conduct a thorough search;
- Parents will be contacted;
- If child is not found, the police will be contacted.
Child not collected at the end of the programme
The following steps will be taken if a child is not collected at the end of the programme:
- Two staff members will remain with the child;
- Parents and emergency contacts will be contacted;
- If there has been no contact with the parents within one hour of the programme closing, the child will be taken to the nearest police station. A note will be left at the centre indicating where the child has been taken. The Enjoy Childcare Director will also be informed;
- Parents may be charged a late pick-up fee of $10 per 15 minutes;
- Parents must inform staff in writing prior to the child being picked up if a person who is not listed on the child's enrolment form will be collecting the child.
Unauthorised collection of children
Staff will not release a child to any person who is not identified on the enrolment form without written permission. If an unauthorised person comes to collect the child, parents will be contacted for authorisation. Written permission or a phone call to the head supervisor must be given for children to leave the programme unaccompanied. If done by phone it must be followed up in writing.
Children with special needs
Children with special needs will not be excluded from the programme and efforts will be made to ensure they are able to be included. However the Head Supervisor must be confident that the childs requirements can be catered for without negatively affecting the other children and also can ensure that the child will benefit from being at the programme.
Specific accommodation for special needs
Full information about the childs requirements including medication, diet and supervision, must be obtained from the parents in writing and be included with the childs enrolment form. It is the Head supervisors responsibility to ensure that all staff and volunteers are fully aware of the childs requirements and that they feel confident to provide the necessary care.
If the child will require further special aids, for example modified facilities, extra staff or staff training, the head supervisor will consult with the Management Team who will make the final decision. Each case will be considered individually and every effort to include the child within the limits of the resources of the programme will be made.
Phones
Each Enjoy centre has a dedicated phone specific for holiday programme and before and after school care. At least one phone will be made accessible at all times. A member of the staff carries a cell phone to be used on outings and at the centre if appropriate.
Policy on Animals
Keeping animals at the centre will not be allowed as it may compromise childrens health, i.e. children with allergies. Dogs will not be permitted at the programme.
If animals are encountered at the programme or on an excursion, they will be contained and responded to in a manner that is appropriate and ensures the safety of the children
Confidentiality
The programme will ensure staff and child confidentiality. At all times the programme will comply with the requirements of the Privacy Act 2020.
- No information is shared except with the owner's permission or as required by legislation, for example, Health and Safety Act. All files holding information will be duly secured and kept from the access of unauthorised persons.
- All personal information shared in discussion between staff or at meetings is to remain between those persons.
- All sensitive and personal conversations including telephone conversations shall be held discreetly and in private.
- You have the right to access information collected about yourself or your child, and to request a correction of that information (if necessary).
- Information may be viewed by MSD during an audit procedure.
Programme supervision
The staff/child ratio will be as follows:
- a minimum of two staff with children at any time;
- at the centre 1:10;
- on excursions 1:8;
- excursions near water 1:6;
- Or as directed by OSCAR.
The head supervisor is responsible for ensuring that staff rosters and that all children are supervised according to the above ratios at all times.
Overall management and site supervision must be carried out by an adult of at least 20 years of age. All adults counted towards supervision will be 18 years or older.
Children will be informed of the boundaries they are expected to stay within at all times and must inform an adult when they are going to leave the area (to go to the toilet, etc). The boundaries for playing outside must be clearly defined to children by staff. Children must be within sight and sound of a staff member and able to hear a whistle at all times. Children may not play in the car park and must stay within the defined boundaries at all times.
Accidents/emergency procedures
A first aid kit will be kept at the centre and taken on excursions along with emergency contact numbers. The first aid kit will be stored out of reach of the children. It is the responsibility of the Floor Manager to ensure that it is maintained and well stocked. At all times at least one staff member who holds a current first aid certificate must be on site.
If a child becomes unwell while at the programme the parent will be notified immediately, and appropriate action agreed between parents and staff. A sofa and blankets are available for the use of sick children.
Prevention and suspicion of child abuse
If parents have any concerns about the treatment of a child by any of our staff or the public, they are encouraged to make these known either to the head supervisor or a member of the Management Team. Staff will report immediately to the Floor Manager or Management Team of and concerns about child abuse within or outside of the programme. We will ensure that an incident form is completed and that the matter is fully investigated and acted on as necessary. We will use an advisor and mediator from outside the organization if independent investigation or arbitration is indicated. Staff training time will be used for recognition of suspected abuse and appropriate responses. Staff will receive annual training around child protection.
Child Protection policy in accordance with the Children’s Act 2014.
Enjoy Childcare recognises and enforces the principles outlined in s 6 of the Children’s Act 2014 where practicable.
Additionally, guidance will be taken from the Children’s Action Plan (2015), published by Oranga Tamariki – Ministry for Children.
Enjoy Childcare will observe the updated policies within 3 months following the publication of amendments of both the Children’s Act 2014 and the Children’s Action Plan.
Emergency and disaster procedures
Both fire and earthquake drills will be carried out once a term for the Before/ After School Care Programme and once a fortnight during every School Holiday programme period. The Floor Manager will keep the fire department notified of programme hours and numbers of children. The Floor Manager and staff in conjunction with the management team will develop a plan of action for emergencies involving either fire or earthquake which is clearly displayed in every room and which includes:
- how to recognise the nature of the emergency;
- how and where children will collect outside;
- ensuring everyone is accounted for;
- how to recognise the emergency is over.
A record will be kept of every emergency drill carried out along with the names of staff and volunteers who were involved. All staff will be trained in emergency procedures. The fire service will be notified of fire drills at least 7 days before the drill occurs.
Smoke Free Policy
Enjoy Childcare has a smoke free policy for the centre. Staff are not permitted to smoke in front of the children at any time. Any complaints of breaches are to be directed to the Floor Manager or Management Team.
Section: Complaints
Parents will be informed on enrolment that there is a complaints procedure and the procedure will be clearly displayed on notice board found on the Centre. In general, if any parents have complaints about the programme or staff members, they should:
- Approach the Floor Manager who will attempt to rectify the situation. (The Administrator may be approached initially if preferred.)
- If the parent is still unhappy they should then contact the Director (Mr. Enrino Pasullean 022 651 0773) and the concerns will be communicated to the Management Team.
- Further complaints must be made in writing and must contain details of the grievance and desired outcomes. The management team will respond in writing to the complaint within 14 days. If necessary the Management Team will arrange a mutually agreed time to discuss the complaint in person with all concerned parties. Where possible, a mutually agreeable outcome will be sought. The head supervisor will keep the Management Team informed of any verbal complaints received.
- Both parties should receive a written copy of complaint and outcome.
- If unresolved, complainant can contact MSD Approvals team.
