Please accept these conditions and ensure your child is aware:
- My child will be dropped off and picked up immediately prior to and after training/game days and will not leave the venue without the permission of a coach or organiser.
- I acknowledge that there are risks involved with basketball and fully realise the dangers of participating in an event such as this and fully assume the risks associated with such participation and my childs well-being during the event.
- I understand and agree that situations may arise during the event, which may be beyond the immediate control of coaches or organisers, and my child must continually participate in a manner that does not endanger either my child or others.
- Neither the organisers, the sponsors nor other parties associated with the event shall have any responsibility, financial or otherwise, for any risk incident that might arise, whether or not by negligence, from any direct or indirect loss, injury or death that might be sustained by me or any other party directly or indirectly associated with me, from my childs intended or actual participation in the event or its related activities.
- My child agrees to comply with the rules, regulations and event instructions of the coaches, organisers or the staff from the venue.
- I consent to my child receiving medical treatment which may be advisable in the event of illness or injuries suffered during the event. All attempts to contact parent(s)/caregivers will be done.
- I have made my child aware of these conditions and have authority to accept these conditions on their behalf.

Publicity:
By accepting these terms and conditions, I authorise my childs name, voice, picture and information on this entry form to be used without payment to me in any broadcast, telecast, social media promotion, advertising or any other way pursuant to the Privacy Act 1993.
Photos or video may be used by Cambridge Basketball on, but not limited to Facebook and Instagram.
Fees payment:
Fees must be paid within TWOWEEKS OF YOUR BOOKINGAND NO LATER THAN A WEEKPRIORto the programme start date.
Cambridge Basketball reserves the right to withhold a player from a team/activity until the account is paid in full.
Refunds:
- If your child chooses to opt out 48 hours prior to the programme start date, a full refund will be reimbursed.
- If your child misses a session/game for any reason no refund for that session will be given.
CODES OF CONDUCT
IT IS A CONDITION OF ENTRY TO ALL CAMBRIDGE BASKETBALL ACTIVITIES.
IT IS AN EXPECTATION OF CAMBRIDGE BASKETBALL THAT YOU ABIDE BY THE CODES OF CONDUCT LISTED IN THIS DOCUMENT. FOR THEIR OWN SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF OTHERS, IT IS A CONDITION OF ENTRY THAT NON-PARTICIPATING YOUNG CHILDREN BE ACCOMPANIED OR ADEQUATELY SUPERVISED BY A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN AT ALL TIMES WHILE ON THESE PREMISES. FAILURE TO ACT ACCORDING TO THE CODES OF CONDUCT MAY RESULT IN YOUR REMOVAL FROM THE STADIUM AND/OR EXCLUSION FROM BASKETBALL ACT AND ITS ACTIVITIES.
These codes of conduct are intended as guidelines appropriate for all involved in the sport of basketball; including though not limited to players, coaches, officials and spectators.
These codes are guides within which each participating group should endeavour to operate to improve the basketball experience all participants.
The code requires that you:
abide by the rules of the sport
follow directions given by officials
demonstrate the principle of mutual respect
Designated officials of Cambridge Basketball are authorised to require a person to leave the premises if that person breaches the code through:
verbal or physical abuse of other participants
harassment or discrimination of individuals or groups
constant or aggressive questioning of decisions
ridicule, baiting or uttering audible obscenities
engaging in behaviour which fails the mutual respect test
Further action is not precluded where a person is asked to leave the premises.
We accept that disagreements and disputes may occur.
Address these in a polite, calm manner using the procedures of your sport.
Players Code of Conduct
Play by the rules.
Never argue with an official. If you disagree, have your captain, coach or manager approach the referee during a break or after the game in an appropriate manner.
Control your temper. Verbal abuse of officials or other players, deliberately distracting or provoking an opponent is not acceptable or permitted in basketball.
Work equally hard for yourself and for your team. Your team's performance will benefit so will you.
Be a good sport. Acknowledge all good plays whether they are by your team or the other team.
Treat all players as you would like to be treated. Do not interfere with, bully or take unfair advantage of another player.
Co-operate with your coach, team-mates and opponents. Without them there would be no competition.
Play for the "fun of it" and not just to please parents and coaches.
Avoid use of derogatory language based on gender, race or impairment.
Be prepared to lose sometimes. Everyone wins and loses at some time. Be a fair winner and good loser.
Realise that there are consequences for breaches of these Codes of Conduct, some of which are severe.
Parents & Spectators Code of Conduct
Encourage children to participate if they are interested. If they are not, don't force them.
Focus on playing the game, reducing the emphasis on winning.
Teach children that an honest effort is as important as victory, so that the result of each game is accepted without undue disappointment.
Encourage children to always play by the rules.
Do not criticise children in front of others, but reserve constructive criticism for more private moments.
Never ridicule or scold a child for making a mistake during competition. Be positive.
Remember children are involved in sport for their enjoyment, not yours.
Remember a child learns best by example. Applaud good play by all teams.
Accept decisions of all referees as being fair and called to the best of their ability. Do not raise issues of disagreement publicly.
Do not criticise opposing team members or supporters by word or gesture.
Set a good example by your own conduct, behavior and appearance.
Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities.
Avoid use of derogatory language based on gender, race or impairment.
Realise that there are consequences for breaches of these Codes of Conduct, some of which are severe.
