Busy Bumbles will run a Holiday Programme style day to cater for parents that need care when Lemonwood Grove School - Te Uru Tarata, along with other local schools, is closed for a Teacher Only Day on Friday 8th May.

Our School Hours session runs from 8.30am-3pm. It is important that you sign your child in at 8.30am or after and sign out at or before 3pm if you have booked the School Hours session. Any sign ins before 8.30am or sign outs after 3pm will convert your booking to the Full Day session, which runs from 7am-6pm. We will care for your child/ren for the additional time and you will be charged at the Full Day rate.

BUSY BUMBLES TERMS AND CONDITIONS Effective from 20 April 2026

Our Heart-Centred Promise Busy Bumbles was founded in 2009 by Rebecca Macey (a former educator, school leader, and busy working mum of two) who saw first-hand how hard it could be for local families to find reliable, nurturing before- and after-school care. She created Busy Bumbles to give parents true peace of mind: the reassurance that while they’re working, their children are not only safe, but surrounded by warmth, consistency, and genuine care. These Terms & Conditions reflect the same values that inspired Busy Bumbles from day one: kindness, communication, fairness, and an unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of every child, family, and school we serve. We are committed to being transparent, respectful, and responsive, and to making Busy Bumbles the provider of choice for Canterbury and Dunedin families and schools.

1. Definitions The Customer: Any parent, guardian, or caregiver enrolling a child. The Child: The enrolled child/children. The Programme: Any Busy Bumbles programme (Before School Care, After School Care, Holiday Programmes, Teacher-Only Days, etc.).

2. Enrolment & Bookings

2.1 Enrolment Requirements All enrolments and bookings must be completed through Busy Bumbles’ booking platform, Enrolmy. The Customer is responsible for keeping all contact and medical information up to date in Enrolmy and consents to Busy Bumbles using these details for communication and safety purposes. Placement in any Programme is at the sole discretion of Busy Bumbles.

2.2 Booking Amendments & Cancellations Cancellations require 24 hours’ notice in writing for the fee to be waived. No fees are charged for public holidays. All other absences without the required notice will be charged in full. A $20 fee applies for repeated instances of non-notified absences, as this requires staff to divert their attention from caring for the children to confirm a missing child’s whereabouts. 24 hours’ notice is required to end The Child’s ongoing placement in the Programme.

3. Fees & Payments

3.1 Fees Fees are as advertised, and subject to change. Busy Bumbles will provide at least one term’s notice of any fee changes. Charges apply based on the session booked. To help you get the best value, we encourage families to book shorter sessions when early pick-up is likely. For example, if you think you may be able to collect your child earlier on certain days, you are welcome to book an earlier pick-up time so you only pay for the time you need.

3.2 Late Pick-Ups If The Customer does not collect their child by the time booked, they may be charged the difference between the booked session and the session during which the child was collected. Busy Bumbles closes at 6:00pm (Busy Bumbles Waitaha closes at 2:45pm). Late pick-ups incur a fee of $15 per 15-minute period (or part thereof) after 6:00pm (after 2:45pm at Waitaha), charged per family. We value our staff and ask for your support in ensuring they can return home to their own families on time.

3.3 Invoicing & Payment Terms Payment can be made by online bank payment or credit/debit card (surcharge applies). No cash or cheques will be accepted at venues. Term care is invoiced weekly (on Mondays) in arrears and due within 7 days. Late fees of 10% apply. Holiday Programme bookings must be paid in advance by the invoice due date. A Child’s place in the term programme is only confirmed if all fees from the previous term have been paid in full. Non-payment may result in bookings being suspended or cancelled. The Customer will become liable for all fee collection and/or enforcement fees, which will be advised in writing. If a debt is referred to a collection agency, no further bookings will be accepted.

3.4 WINZ Subsidies & Family Discounts Payment Plans can be arranged, as necessary, in certain circumstances Families awaiting subsidy approval are responsible for paying fees until paperwork is completed and processed. A 10% deposit is required for Holiday Programme bookings when using WINZ. Any shortfall after subsidy payment is due within 7 days. Family discounts are available to our term programme only.

3.5 Unforeseen Closures If Busy Bumbles cannot operate due to an unforeseen event (e.g., severe weather, natural disaster), fees remain payable to support staffing and operational commitments, unless advised otherwise.

4. Programme Care, Safety & Wellbeing

4.1 General Safety and Behaviour Busy Bumbles complies with all Health & Safety policies and OSCAR standards. Staff are trained, screened, and supported to provide safe, positive care. Busy Bumbles has a zero tolerance policy for bullying, violence, or unsafe behaviour. Following consultation with The Customer, ongoing or serious behaviour incidents may result in temporary or permanent removal from the Programme.

4.2 Snacks & Nutrition Light snacks are provided at all After School Care sessions.

4.3 Homework Support Staff will encourage and supervise homework, but completion remains the responsibility of The Child.

4.4 First Aid & Medical Staff may apply basic first aid and sunscreen as needed. Programme Managers may arrange urgent medical treatment at The Customer’s cost. A medical consent form is required for any medication administered by staff. The Customer must keep all medical and allergy information updated in Enrolmy.

4.5 Transport The Child may be transported by Busy Bumbles van, car, or chartered bus as needed. The Transport Policy is available upon request.

4.6 Personal Belongings The Child is responsible for their own belongings. The Customer is responsible for the cost of any wilful damage caused by The Child.

5. Communication & Collaboration Busy Bumbles values collaborative, respectful communication. Staff may discuss The Child with appropriate parties (e.g., teachers, specialists, government agencies) for safety, behavioural, or wellbeing reasons. Disputes will be resolved consultatively; however, the final decision lies with Busy Bumbles Management.

6. Agreement to Terms By completing enrolment and all subsequent bookings, The Customer acknowledges and accepts these Terms & Conditions.
