Welcome to Arts a Go Go! Classes for babies to 19 year olds.

Introduction to Arts a Go Go! for 4 to 6 Year Olds.

This one hour class takes elements of the two hour combo class, designed especially to give younger children an introduction to creative dance, drama and singing. It is also designed for helping children to develop confidence, in a safe and fun environment. The children rotate through approximately 20 minutes of creative dance, 20 minutes of drama and approximately 20 minutes of singing. At the end of term 4, the children perform in their own informal show at The Spot.

What is Creative Dance?
In the introduction class, dance elements and vocabulary are introduced to students through a variety of fun and exciting activities to draw movement and choreography out of them. Using locomotor and non-locomotor movement, students will be introduced to elements of dance, such as body awareness, balance, space and timing. It is suitable for all body sizes and shapes, boys and girls. It gives students another way of expressing themselves and challenges them to be imaginative, creative and flexible. It helps children find their own style without fear of criticism. The elements of dance taught are relevant to all types of dance and are the early development of choreography skills.
What happens in Drama?
Drama techniques are introduced including voice projection, mime, observation, being brave, working as a group and listening. This part of the class helps children develop confidence and a willingness to take risks. Lifetime lessons will be learned that will help them in both classroom and social situations.

Vocal Exercises and Singing
This part of the session enables the children to enjoy singing together, encourages them to explore their singing voice, foster a love of singing and learn basic techniques such as warming up the voice, diction and singing posture. Many of our singers go on to further training at Arts a Go Go and do very well in competitions and in musical theatre roles.
